I was hunting in a swamp north of town on Wednesday. I found a Spyderco Resilience half buried in the mud. Got it home, and washed it. It had quite a bit of rust on the blade, but some bronze wool and Kroil oil took care of that. Polished the blade with some Wenol and a cloth.
It cleaned up pretty good. It was very dull, but a few minutes on the EdgePro took care of that. Shaving sharp now, and looking good.
I realize it isn't the greatest product Spyderco ever sold, and I DO wish the previous owner had better taste or more money, but ya know, for zero investment, it just ain't a bad knife. ;)

Ha! What are the odds eh? Can you imagine it once belonged to a forum member lol. Good for you nice find!

The free translated Dutch saying ''Don't look in the mouth of a given horse'' should apply here. Meaning that you should not have the highest expectations of something you received, but be grateful ;)

Nice find nun the less. 8Cr13MoV cleans up well. I guess that the previous owner considered losing a knife as a possibility. Same reason i love those decent budget folders like Spyderco/Byrd. Same reason why i didnt bother to lose a Byrd Meadowlark.

A free decent folder! Enjoy the **** out of it!!!!

btw where the liners and screws affected by the rust?
yes, there is some visible rust on the liners. I don't know about the screws, as I have not yet taken it all apart. Guess I may need to disassemble it.
