A great time. I spent a great couple of days fondling some great custom knives and buying a few also. I picked up a great One Eyed Jack from A.T. Barr that he had made for me and a couple of Bud Nealys pieces.
I also had a great time hooking up with Danbo, Mongo, Shep and also meeting Chuck Gollnick, Sharp by Coop, Cockroach farm, Plus many others.

Ill try and get the pics of my one eyed jack up on the gallery tomorrow or the next day...

all in all it was fun...fun..fun.. :D

Ren thank god, I thought the oompa's had you..... :D

Yes, meeting the Devil's Trailboss was a high-point of the show for me.

It was a good show. It's a smaller show, but what's there is all good stuff. There's hardly any flea-market stuff there. So, it's small, but it's concentrated. There were very few tables where I didn't have to stop and look at something.

The other way I like to judge a show is by how much you learn. And I learned a lot at the Chicago show. Lot's of good people there.

Although it was too much like work to say it was all 'fun', having the chance to meet you, Ren, and all the others you mentioned was a nice respite. :D

I handled some great knives and have images to prove it. More important than that was how I enlisted Leta Blanton to take my point & shoot Nikon camera and shoot EVERY SINGLE MAKER who was on the list. She deserves a bigg hurrah soon enough. So do others.

Once I edit them down and upload them, we'll all enjoy the show again....!

Thanks, Ren! :)

We posted at the same time, Chuck. I got to meet the infallible Gollnick. Thanks for stopping in! :D

Coop

Oh, thank you.

I enjoyed getting to pal around with a hero of mine, Coop. He showed me a trick or two and his new camera is very impressive.

I had more fun at this show, than legally allowed, I'm sure. ;) :D

A lot of great stuff packed in that room, that's for sure. :)

But, even if I hadn't managed to find a couple of nice toys, I'd still call it a winner, due to all the good people there.

Yeehaw! I had me a pretty good time at the show too.... although I have been sworn to secrecy by Danbo and Ren not to divulge all the events of our tactical deanimation weekend. What goes on during "knife show" stays on "knife show" All I can say is to not order the Cobb salad, and always have a snow-cone available for your distal end of the alimentary tract whenever necessary.

I ended up only buying a custom made pen from a maker who's name I have temporarily forgotten, but do have the card for. I had my eye on a Burnley knife that I may be able to snag this weekend at the AECA show, and probably would have bought a Dozier knife if he hadn't backed out of the show. There was a ton of serious eye-candy knife wise. My first pass through the show was like a serious case of sensory overload. It seems that all the good stuff was gobbled up within the first 30 nanoseconds of the show being opened on Friday.

The other great part of the show was of course the people there. I met up with Danbo and finally met the infamous Ren. I also met Cockroachfarm and got a glimpse of the mighty Gollnick, but didn't get a chance to introduce myself. (sorry Chuck, I will have better manners next time) I had some interesting discussions with the man/myth/legend Darrell Ralph and got some great advice on restaurants from several sources.... remember this name: Fogo de chao (hope I spelled it right) There was even quite a few attractive women at this show too. All in all, a pretty good show... at least the stuff I CAN tell. ;)

Well, gotta go.... I'm gonna see how Danbo is doing on his crash Bulgarian languange study course. :D

Not a LOT, but a few. Some MILF's, a few younger types.
