My Mom and Dad visited this weekend and I took my dad on his first canoe trip, he is 66 and hasn't been in a small boat since he was a kid. He took to it like a duck and had a very good time even though the weather was very brisk, low 40s dipping into the low 20s at night. Also Dick's sports is clearing out last years stock of kayaks, my son bought an old town and got a fantastic deal so I went down today and bought myself a Perception Montour, 2 more boats added to the fleet.
But the surprise of the weekend, my dad recently bought a new carry pistol, a glock 26, he has had a Smith and Wesson model 13-3 in stainless for years. I love the smith it fits me like it was made for me and I shoot it very well, I have been trying to talk him out of it forever. He gets here and shows me his new pistol, then says you have a big birthday coming up in a couple of weeks, 40th, I said that I did, he rummages around in his suitcase and hands me that smith and says happy birthday, you could have knocked me over with a feather, I am very happy to say the least. Chris
He loves boats and I can't keep him out.
EDC jewelery, I make no apologies for the pearls, I guess there is a little New Orleans pimp in my blood.
