I had a very good weekend

My Mom and Dad visited this weekend and I took my dad on his first canoe trip, he is 66 and hasn't been in a small boat since he was a kid. He took to it like a duck and had a very good time even though the weather was very brisk, low 40s dipping into the low 20s at night. Also Dick's sports is clearing out last years stock of kayaks, my son bought an old town and got a fantastic deal so I went down today and bought myself a Perception Montour, 2 more boats added to the fleet.:D

But the surprise of the weekend, my dad recently bought a new carry pistol, a glock 26, he has had a Smith and Wesson model 13-3 in stainless for years. I love the smith it fits me like it was made for me and I shoot it very well, I have been trying to talk him out of it forever. He gets here and shows me his new pistol, then says you have a big birthday coming up in a couple of weeks, 40th, I said that I did, he rummages around in his suitcase and hands me that smith and says happy birthday, you could have knocked me over with a feather, I am very happy to say the least. Chris

He loves boats and I can't keep him out.

EDC jewelery, I make no apologies for the pearls, I guess there is a little New Orleans pimp in my blood.

NIce acquisitons on both parts... a stainless revolver seems like a great companion for a kayak

Wow, that's all awesome! I look forward to getting our boat in the water this spring. We have a tandem kayak, and sadly, the wifey usually won't want to take it out unless the air temp is around 80. :( Woe is me... :)

Man that is an awesome weekend!! Jealous really.

Fiddleback,

I apologize for the delay but you have a package coming your way tomorrow.

WoW! Looks like you hit the jackpot there Chris!

Congrats!

Nice Perception, I love that blue-fade color. You need to get your dog a George Washington hat (crossing the Delaware) you can be his ensign. ;)

Aye Aye pooch! :D

You are a very fortunate man. That is something you will always treasure.

The sky blue fade is fish camo, hopefully they will just think it is the sky and that tasty morsel in front of them is just lunch.;)

As far as me being Rusty's ensign, I don't think I have that much rank.:D

Fish Camo? wow, never thought of it that way, hope it works. Tell us if you think you catch more outta that boat than another without that pattern. Very interesting concept. People used to paint the bottom of their wooden boats a sky blue color , maybe they knew something?

Rusty looks like a "damm the torpedoes" type of leader, he needs a commission.

Great memories and a heck of a birthday present. Your old man sounds like a class act, now we know where you get it from. :)

Dang bro. Don't apologize to me. A weekend like that, I'll wait anytime!!!

Nice! Your Dad looks happy as a clam. Those 13-3's are nice little revolvers, just the ticket. I have one in blue, but wish it was stainless. Just the right length barrel, fixed not target, round butt, six shots. All I did to mine was bob the hammer.

Have fun with it! I'd prefer it over a G26, and I like Glocks!

Andy

Real nice piece of smith and wesson history. I also like the kayak. An awesome weekend indeed.
