that Buck was still putting out fantastic knives! I had a buck fixed blade years ago and really liked it but I had just figured that Buck was now just banging out cheap knives. My apologies.
I got so caught up in the tactical folders and it never entered my mine to consider an old tried and true traditional. I just got a user today, thank you Duane!, and it won't be my last!

Yep, don't ever count Buck Knives out. I still have an older Buck 119 in the toolbox. That knife might be a bit long as an EDC blade, but it sure is a nice design that has proved to be a classic performer over the years. It might be me but I have a ton a good memories attached to that well used knife. The old style leather sheath with the covering flap has done a superb job of housing the blade.

My favorite Buck for EDC has to be my Gen 5 Skinner. Love the keen edge and the light, handy feel of this little cutter. It will ride with me into the hunting camp this year ready for action.

Glad it showed up so quick! Now USE that thing and let us know how you like it:)

Welcome back. Like you I got away from them. I've just recently realized my error. They still make great knives.

Thanks guys.
Yep, it's the awesome 422. I will get pix up asap. ;) I really like how Buck pays attention to all the details. Even the back-spring is finished nicely.
Thanks again Duane!!

In my book, nothing beats a good old Buck 110 for a great all around knife!!! I use a finger groove 110 for hunting, easy to sharpen and the finger grooves keep it steady!!

Hi Joe! ^
I will put my new 422 to use tomorrow. I'll give a report soon.
Duane- Does the 422 come with a pocket clip or is this your touch?

I sent him a 422 to try to set the hook;)

A few month back, I snatched a very slightly used 422 on that big auction site for the criminally low price of $7 (plus another $5 for shipping). I love it. In cargo shorts, I can't even tell it's there. And the blade profile and edge geometry just plain 'work.' Buck doesn't need to re-invent the wheel ...... not when they invented the wheel. :-)
