Both my Sage 3 and Stretch showed up today!
The Sage 3 is just superb, I'm beyond impressed.
The finish, action, edge grind, ergonomics, fit in pocket, and lock are just perfect. The liners were so well fitted in the scales that at first I thought that it didn't have any. When people here talk about the close to perfection quality of the Taiwan made Spydies it's hard to believe. I'm a believer for sure now.
My Stretch was ok.
The not so good: The action is gritty. A screw on the scale was loose, so loose that I felt it pushing into my hand when I first held it. It wasn't even finger tight. The edge grind was off quite a bit.
The good: The ergonomics are great, feeling almost as good in hand as my PM2. The blade to handle ratio is very close. It was very sharp even though the edge grind was so different. It fit very well in my pocket, as good as my Manix 2s.
Overall I'm happy, though the Stretch was a little disappointing. I'm sure it will get better and just needs to be broken in. The Sage 3 is like a smaller Manix 2, which is my favorite. That might not be for long as the Sage 3 is just so perfect.
On a side note can anybody tell me who designed the Sage Series?
Here's took a couple pics of the Sage 3 and Stretch with my PM2, Manix 2 in satin, and Delica:
