I hadn't seen this one before, Buck 332

Offshore manufacture?
Nice looking Barlow.
I wish Buck had a regular production Barlow.

Didn't BUCK make a knife with that handle shape back in the early days?
For the Coastal Guard or Navy.....
I thought there was a thread on it awhile back.....

Anyways, sorta reminds me of that.:)

Thanks Andy. All the Buck Barlows were SFO's, (Special Factory Orders), and none of those had model numbers or date codes stamped on them, but the various versions were made in 1999 by Camillus for exclusive sale in the Smoky Mountain Knife Works catalog, they were never cataloged or sold by Buck themselves. The knives were bulk shipped unboxed to the Buck offices, were boxed then sent off to SMKW in TN.

Camillus made those for Buck and they were only available through SMKW if I recall correctly. There was a granddad Barlow model as well.

I think you are talking about 117 folding
Guess during in 1940’s

My understanding of the 117 is that Buck was buying WWII surplus knives and reblading them with a 'BUCK" blade.
Here is a knife image swiped from eBay typical of the type I think were used. This one happens to be a 1944 Camillus. The blade reminds me of the 315 Yachtsman. I thought they were "life raft" knifes but a quick search finds them refered to as "rope" knives. From memory Buck was replacing it with a drop point type blade.
Anyone have a picture of an actual Buck 117 to post?
