Spurred on by the evil influence of this board, I went out not long ago and bought myself a SAK Tinker. Nice lil knife, I'm happy with it.

Today I'm shopping at another store and they have a package deal: A Super Tinker (which has scissors, which I wanted on my knife and the standard Tinker doesn't have) WITH a sharpener thingie included in the package.

D'oh!

Now I don't feel cheated or anything, like I said, the Tinker is a good lil knife. But to find something just a little bit better a few days after the fact, well you know....

Standard part of life, I learned this a long time ago. How many times do you shop around to get the best deal on something then, two days later, the same item goes on sale at half the price.

I know how you feel, Two years ago I bought an 18v cordless drill and saw combo from Sears. It was normaly $189 and went on sale for $169. I was willing to buy at $189 so the sale price forced me to act. About 3 weeks later Sears comes out with new 19.5v drill and saw combo for like $195! Arrrrrrrrrrrg! I only got to enjoy having the most powerfull for a couple of weeks!

I'll never have this problem with a SAK, I have the swisschamp xlt with 51 tools. 18 months later still no SAK with 52 tools!

SAKs are always like that.

I started with a classic... that wasn't good enough.

So I got a Huntsman (I think that's the name). Not good enough either.

Up to a Swisschamp.

Then a Cybertool 34.

That's not counting the handful I don't EDC but have stashed away in various places.

They're addictive.

I have a Swisschamp as well, but that one's just a wee bit large for normal carry.

Though I am considering one of the classics for the key ring, one with the pen and light implements.
