last week I posted in a "beast folder" thread that I had picked up a PXLwh and it has ridden in my back pocket since then (no pocket clip or belt sheath which surprised me a bit) and while I have gotten comfortable with it carried in this manner, it did kick my Izula II and a SAK Farmer out of my back pocket in a KSf pocket sheath. so after swapping the SAK to a front pocket, the hunt for a fixed blade to carry on my belt began ( I have always carried a fixed and folder as well as a multi). sooooo...after doing alotta searching for another small fixed blade, I decided to compliment the PXL with a Fallkniven SK3L. the sheath style will be new to me, but I am looking forward to this little guy showing up at my door. so now I ask....aside from the VG-10 used on my F1s (my only other Fallkinven knives), I don't have much experience with Fallkniven blades/steels...what do you guys/gals use to sharpen your 3G and CoS blades, and can a fella get a bit of advice?

much appreciated,
Lee

if anyone has one, and they don't mind, could I get some pics of the knife In the sheath along with some smaller fixed blades in theirs for a point of reference? what im curious of is how low will the SK3 hang / how discreet will it be when carried.

thanks again for your patience, I haven't had much extra money for myself...only two knives ordered this year  (still recovering from Christmas :thumbdn:) and considering ive never handled this knife (I know, I know, but they are exactly common in SW Iowa), id greatly appreciate some comparison pics.

At 5.8" overall, a couple inches extra for the sheath, I bet you could slide it on your belt and tuck it into your back pocket for a discreet carry.

I wasn't familiar with the Juni or the big brother Jarl, but now that I checked out your link, I like them both. The Juni should make a great personal utility knife.

I've had three of the PXL's with the 3G blade steel. These were some of the sharpest lnives put of the box I have ever gotten. As far as sharpeni ng t hem I never got them dull enough to have to sharpen! I keep my Sharpmaker set up on my work table and when I use my knife, which really is not often, I come in and hit it about 10 passes on each side and I'm done. When ypu get knives out of the box this sharp, I have found that it is easier to keep ypur knife sharp rather than using it until it becomes dull and requires a full sharpening.
