OK here is the cane gun I posted about yesterday. I have tried every transition I can think of and it still didn't look right so I added more snake skin and made a covered ring at the junction.

It still isn't right and I have had it...besides, I'm busy today. I'll work on it this weekend.

One picture shows the assembled cane and the other shows the components.

The sharp edge is in the back of the handle and will cut rope (not slice) the handle twists to fire the thing although I haven't put a nipple inside yet. I won't do that until I get an opinion back from ATF on it's status as "any other weapon"

I like allot. I dont see the problem. BTW my back yard doesnt look any better than yours. Most knife makers neglect their gardening duties it seems.

Looks pretty cool from the picture, though I know what you mean about "it still doesn't look right", it's the same thing with knives. When I show one I made to people I know, they usually think it looks great. I try to point out the flaws and where I still need to improve and sometimes they still just don't see it, only I do. It will never be 100% perfect to you the makers standards, but that's what's so nice about hand crafted things like this is that the machines don't even give things a second look to see what needs improvement while we'll go back over and over it until we can't get it any better.

Thanks guys. I'll work on it later.

Hmmmm. Guess I should pick up some Bruce. I still have a couple of deer stands out there. I did seed last week though...Richt before the storm came through and washed it away! :o

Uh oh... looks like you have some posion ivy growing near that gate! :p

That is pretty cool though... It is blackpowder and a muzzle loader right?

I'm trying to raise prizewinning poison ivy thank you!
It is a muzzle loader Dave. My concern with The feds is if it is not readily identifiable as a firearm, sometimes they will hit you with the "any other weapon" issue and if it isn't registered with them as such, you are in trouble.

I had to do a little research a few weeks ago. The ignition system has a lot to do with it. Fuse and matchlocks are always OK. Flintlocks are almost always OK. Cap locks are questionable depending on the style and inlines are always looked at very hard (209 primers)

This one is a cap lock (#11)

And later that day while I was talking to Mark Williams on the phone, we had a thunder storm....then pea sized hail....then marble size....then golf ball size ....then it stopped.

5 minutes later I heard something like a train and thought we were getting a tornado and down came baseball size hail then softball size....then it quit again and the sun came out.

No, that's not me, it's my son baby boy!

Whoa!!! I was sounding pretty rough when we hung up. Did you find out if you has a twister? Any damage?

I wonder if the hailstones killed the poison ivy? Thats a big baby boy you have. How can you afford to feed him?

So you heard from the Feds on the "any other weapon" issue? Tell me again, Is my axe/gun ok to resell or do I have to write them?

they just don't build baby boys like they use too do they :)
mine stands a few inch taller than I do :grumpy: but I can still whoop him
rrrr I think :( ;)

Bruce, I am trying to get the ivy to grow. It is my contribution to the community. When I have enough to share, I'm going to pick a mess for the Hanover Sheriff's annual pig (Did I say that :footinmou ) out!

I heard in a round about way Bruce. Matchlocks are OK!

How can you afford to feed him

I spent a small fortune getting him through college so he could feed me! I'm still waiting.
