So I ordered a Benchmade 520 on Wednesday. Couldn't wait another weekend so I had it sent 2nd day air (New Graham is in VA, I am in FL, 2nd day is unnecessary, BTW). To cap it all off I got the remainder of the day off, by some fluke, and now I am checking the window every 5 minutes to see if that damn brown truck has gotten here yet. Anyone else feel my pain? Who is waiting for a knife to get to them that they are about to tear their hair out for?

I'm waiting on my Alaskan guide 110, was backordered just shipped, and my Custom Shoppe 110. I'm so anxious I'd probably be happier driving to pick up my knives from the respective shippers. :(

I have myself something arriving via USPS, probably today, sure am exited waiting for it.

A few weeks ago...

I wanted to pick up my knife when it arrived after waiting 5 days and checking the tracking that it was finally in my location. So I went to the UPS main location. They said I'd have to wait until it was delivered to me the next day, O.K. so I went home. The next day the UPS guy delivered it, but didn't knock on the door, just left it sitting on the porch. I was home at the time, but the doorbell never rang.

Eventhough it was insured for a high value. (apparently a signature is totally at the discretion of each delivery driver.)

Also, it took 6 days to get this knife, sent ground. USPS would have been 2-3 days at the same cost sent Priority mail.

I find the post offfice to offer much better service, for the same money. I have had way too many UPS drivers leave high value packages on my doorstep, or at my neighbor's door to ever trust them.

I am going nuts this week. Waiting on a Leatherman, A victorinox Soldier, and a new Space pen. SURELY something will be here today :(

I have a new Paul Chen trench knife arriving any minute. I can feel it in my bones! I'm also waiting for a local store to recieve the Hanwei Tactical Tanto. $150 retail, I'm sure they'll cut me a nice deal (even though they sell out in two days EVERY TIEM!!!!1)

I'm shaking for some shankings....

I'm waiting for a CRK Mnandi by USPS. Also a glut of other things that I don't want to mention. Please don't let it be stopped by customs....

yeah, i don't like UPS either. Takes too long. I prefer to have my stuff shipped by US Priority. Takes about 2 - 3 days in most of my experiences.

New Graham gives you that choice on the ordering page, and I selected US Priority and got it real quick!

I also prefer USPS service. I have also found that UPS will just about always leave the package, many times without even trynig the doorbell. I have been sitting home waiting for a knife, or whatever, and never hear the doorbell. So I just make it a habbit to check anyway, and have found things stuck between the screen door, and regular door. UPS has also left packages that were insured without anyone signing for them. One time they even opened up my garage and left some packages in there, without even getting permission.

One thing about UPS is that they seem to really stick to the scheduled delivery date. I have had a package sitting a few miles from my house waiting to be delivered because it came into the local facility ahead of time.

USPS won't leave a package that is insured, or requires a signature when nobody is around to sign for it. I don't mind with them as much mainly because the PO is a couple of blocks from my house. It is no big deal to go pick it up at the end of the day. Getting a package from UPS entails a long trip and I have to wait for them to make multiple delivery attempts. That is assuming they get the signature like they should have.

I love my UPS. My USPS guy just gives me the slip. When I get to the PO, they don't have my package and I have to wait for the next day to pick it up.

I got my "fix" today (Benchmade 710)...2 day shipping...Ya just gotta love USPS Priority Mail.:).

Couple of weeks ago I finished up a knife that I built for a friend and packed it up and sent it UPS to my sheath maker. Four days later I call to see if the knife arrived and there is no sign of it. Wait a couple of days and call again-same story, so I get on line and use the tracking number and find that the package was signed for three days after I shipped it, but not by the person it was addressed too. So where the he** is the knife. It just so happens that I have a friend in the destination town who is a deputy sherriff and I put deputy dog on the case. Same day he finds the package at the local Ford Dealership aprox 5 miles from where it was supposed to be delivered. No harm no foul, but how hard is it to read the name on the package and make sure that that person has signed for it and that you are at the address on the package. What can Brown do for you my a$$. Fed Ex here I come!

I'm not wild about UPS. last year I bought an item on ebay as a christmas gift the last week of november. I figured I should use UPS because the post office was starting to get swamped. The seller had the money order 3 days after I sent it and emailed me to say so. They sent out the package UPS ground the next day After 4 days I check the tracking number, It has bounced all over the place but it will be in delivered the next day. As luck would have it I work afternoons so I can be there when it is delivered. No package! I go to the website that night, it says; "a delivery attempt was made notification was left". NOPE it wasn't The next day same thing, "a delivery attempt was made notification was left" Sorry no it wasn't. So the next morning I call UPS....Song and dance... the driver has your package, yadda yadda. Finnaly after another call UPS does what? RETURNS THE PACKAGE TO SENDER! Now I call again. the website says it's going to somewhere in Illinois, Can you stop it there and return it to me? NO can't do it!

The package went all the way back to the sender in Oklahoma and I had to send them MORE money to ship it USPS.

Avoid UPS use Fed-Ex or USPS Fed-Ex costs around the same as UPS and 1000% better service!
