I'm waiting for three knives at the moment. I know, try to hold back the sympathy.

I'm presently waiting for three knives:

I have a brand new Microtech Socom Elite Tactical with S90V at the factory for service (blade alignment issue) and I'm waiting for it's retur (6 weeks so far).

A Microtech Amphibian M/A that I just bought out of the exchange with my birthday money.

An AlMar Shrike that I've arranged a trade for.

Did I mention that I'm waiting for some knives to arrive?

My problem is that I'm an instant gratification kind of guy and waiting for these things to arrive is making me crazy! I rarely buy online as I like to take my purchases home with me. Shipping time is almost bearable, but back-orders really kill me.

How do you guys deal with this?

I have a CRK I have been waiting 13 weeks on and its due to arrive this week. :D I can be found bit-ching about waiting in various posts about waiting for the past several weeks and now its worse than ever. OK, I am off to set up a tent at the entrance to my neighborhood. That UPS guy aint going to know what hit him :D

I .. am .. very .. patient .. and .. I .. only .. check .. my .. watch .. once .. every .. five .. minutes .. when .. I'm .. waiting .. for .. a .. delivery.

Right now I'm going nuts because I sent a money order for a real nice knife and it hasn't gotten there since last Monday. This is the post office messing up all the way.

I may have to start looking into Paypal

Ultimately, I go with RL. Order something else, and while you are agonizing over that, your first order will pop up seemingly instanteously :D

I ordered a Unique design straight from CRK and had to wait my turn. I was quoted about 9 weeks. I guess beacause of Blade and all, it got delayed. I got the call last Thursday that the knife was done. I was at the post office minutes later sending off a money order. Credit cards were maxed out with "filler" knives. ;)

You could take up a hobby with instant satisfaction to occupy you while you wait for a knife to arrive. Black tar herion, for example.

It gives me the jitters, too. I sent a Kershaw Trooper along with a money order to pay for a custom sheath out last monday, signature requested, and I have not been notified that it was recieved. I guess I should e-mail the guy making the sheath, but I've sent him so many already I feel like I'm annoying him, so I'll wait a few days.

For Unique Sebbies, you should go to a show. I got a really nice one from Ann Reeve at the Solvang show in April (wife said I had to buy it). Their special order list is usually quite a wait but they always seem to have a pretty good inventory of uniques at the shows I've seen them at.

jmx (still friggin waiting)

I'm waiting for another SS PE Spyderco Delica, sent out today from California. I know it'll be here in a couple days (USPS Priority Mail), but I just know it's gonna seem like a couple of weeks...;).

Yep, I hate waiting to. I am a real impatient type, when I want some thing, I want it NOW.

That said I have been waiting for a TNT for over a year and it has been killing me. Now, I am expecting to get an email soon saying that it is done! This makes it even harder, I think that these last stretch is always the hardest. I am just hoping that I get my TNT before my birthday, becasue if I do this will be my absolute best birthday ever.

As far as passing the time while I wait, thats hard. I can't really afford to buy more knive, but I do it anyway. I also buy other toys to play with, and none of them are cheap. I also make up projects to work on that keep me busy, for me as long as I am worrying about something else, I am not thinking about what I am waiting for. When I am in school that helps a lot, between school in the day, and working nights, no time to think about knives. BUT, now I am out of school, and have to much time to think about what I am waiting for. :)

ROFL :D That gave me a good chuckle.

I'm waiting for my first Sebbie, a small LH classic. CRK said 4 weeks at first. But now, just like you TBG, they have added a couple more weeks (3 to be exact) because of the Blade show :grumpy:

You guys know nothing about waiting until you wait for your one-of-a-kind, handmade, from a well-known maker. Just when the year is up on your calendar you're told that it will be another 4 months-- deal with that one!! My wife has no sympathy and won't tolerate my whining about "why can't they do what they promised" or "I can't take another day of delay or I'll commit seppuku."

You guys are Waiting Rookies;)

My Socome Elite Tactical arrived home today. Yeah! Microtech sure doesn't communicate much, about what they did (like not even a note, only a return shipping manifest). but the one small flaw it had was remedidied so I'm a happy camper. Now the question is do I leave it in the safe as planned for posterity, or carry it a bit to see how the flat ground S90V blade cuts compared to my EDC Socom Elite which has 154CM and the pre production grinds......hmmm...
