So I know steel. One is 3 lbs 0.8oz true temper single. The other is Welland vale true temper 2lbs 1.4oz single. Both in the black prince line. The smaller one has DHO between the two stamps. I'd love to know how to restore properly. Also I'm kinda new to forums and can seem to up load pics of these beautiful pieces of history.

There is a dedicated forum to axes, and there are a lot of threads about axe restoration. Posting there will get you a lot further https://www.bladeforums.com/forums/axe-tomahawk-hatchet-forum.768/

Nothing wrong with a little poop, any farmer worth his overalls is gonna get some on his boots. I wouldn’t rub it on an axe head though (unless it was a brown prince, not black).

That’s just me though, not really my business to tell you where to rub your poop.

Yes I agree but I've posted on the axe thred and get no answer.
Actually, you did get an identification answer over on the axe subform, and by an expert on axes.

The problem with asking a general question like how do I restore a vintage axe head is that the subject has been addressed extensively. People get tired of repeating basic advice, especially when so much information is already available. You could Google "restoring old axe heads" have have enough reading and videos to last a long time. Take some time to read threads in the Axe subform and you can learn a lot of hard-to-find axe information and advanced restoration and hafting techniques. People are more willing to help when they can see you've put in some work yourself.

You can find some basic information on Welland Vale at yesteryearstools.com

Good luck with the project.

Sorry so long for reply. I'm very green to anything online due to personal difference. I am trying. I was very vague and since your post have learned a lot thanks
