I am trying to find a steel that is like 5160 but with higher corrosion resistance.
I have been told that cpm 3v is great but i am concerned it will chip easier as my bark river cpm 3v kephart has chipped quite often

Don’t use bark river as a judge at what a steel can do. 3v competes with infi but I’ve never had 3v in a knife that big so I can’t give you any firsthand knowledge. To put another way, I would not hesitate in buying 3v but I would never buy another bark river.

3v is not going to chip on you. At least not in my experience. I have a CPK Behemoth Chopper that I've chopped through wood, sand, and gravel and all I got was slight denting and rolling, but no chipping. I also wouldn't use BRKT as a standard to compare to either.

What's wrong with 5160? It's an excellent steel in a chopper sized knife.

Just curious, who is the manufacturer of the 5160 kukri?
