Bear and Sons with a bone handle at less than 80 bucks on Ebay.

I know you guys are probably getting tired of the newby's posts on his first good Bowie purchase, but here it is.

I have always liked the look of the MGC bowies. My preference is for the stag handled ones. I definitely think there are better bowies for what these normally sell for. If you can get this one for around $80.00 you will be doing all right. Don't pay much more than that though.

I know I'm a PITA on this thing, but I'm a gun expert, not a knife expert and I am tight with a buck. If money wasn't an option, I would buy the Cold Steel Laredo today. But money is a problem with me.

I just want to fine an authentic, or semi authentica Bowie that is both a good using knife and as historically accurate as is possible. I know that second part is a hard bill to fill since tghere were so many "Bowie knifes" made.

This one seems to match my personal idea of what a Bowie should look like and the price ain't so bad.

That Weserern 49 is a good knife, but a little to fat for my tastes and I don't like that birds head grip.

If I doh't get the bid on this one, the same company sells a stag handle for 80 bucks so I'll probably go that route.

Tex, keep in mind that posting about an ongoing ebay auction just might tempt someone to make a competitive bid that beats you to the knife.

Shhh ... tell us about it after you win it! :)

I dohn't care. The same company sell one with stag grips for eighty bucks and I bid 78 on the one with bone. Either way I win.

Also, I am strong beliver in Fate. If it is my fate to buy that knife, I will, no matter what happens.
