I have a community question about a hand forged Bowie knife with WWII token in butt

I came across an 8.25” (blade) hand forged Bowie knife with WWII token in butt of the handle. I have found no makers mark on the blade or anywhere on the knife. Also there’s some sort of rivet holding antler handle on the tang preventing me from checking the tang for a marking.

How common is the token? Do they make replicas of it?
Personally, I'd not date it to war time based on that.
Looks like whoever made it did a good job.

The token looks cast not stamped. A quick google search shows stamped WW2 Freedom tokens.

Like the knife the token's not real.

After a little more research the token is just that, a token. There’s one for sale on eBay for $25.99 (lol overpriced) and the other side of it says “no cash value” like a gaming token that’s probably been around since World War II but I believe can still be used in regular token talking games today.

Hello, KingBenjamin you are not allowed to ask valuation questions without a a gold membership or above. Other questions can be answered though. Your Bowie knife appears to be a fairly modern built knife, the antler doesn't have the telltale yellowing that aged antler or bone would have. The gaming token is probably just that, a souvenir someone brought back from Las Vegas or some place decided it would look good in the handle of the knife. The blade isn't stamped with a makers mark it would be unlikely the tang would have a makers mark either. I wouldn't spend any time attempting to dismantle the knife to find any further information. It appears to be a fairly well built hobby craft made knife, I would recommend using it and enjoying it.

When I read your title, I was hoping you bought a Nicholas WW2 knife?
It's one of my favorite knife designs.
