My son surprised me with a 860 ..From China! I had told him I wanted to try out a neck knife to see how handy it would be and he bought one on the bay for $7.00 delivered..I just could not believe you could get much knife that cheep and I was right.NO WAY it is S30V,I broke the sheath already and it gets dull peeling a apple.There is no made in the USA on the box but at a glance both the box and the knife[before use] look decent.All I can say is now I want to get the real thing with real S30V, paracord,and a working sheath!The fake even had a whistle and weird clips and snaps molded in.It was bigger by a half inch or so too.When it comes to the fake Bucks coming out of China they really ARE crappy...The box did look good...:barf:
 
Yeah, that one when pictured next to the real deal really becomes obvious-at least you got a whistle :D
 
One good thing came out of it ,learning about the Buck 151 Kaala..I think I will try one as it looks like a great knife.I still sometimes forget to keep a knife on me at all times.

I saw that someone had fakes for sale in the US again last week. Reporting it does nothing.........
 
The old saying about "If it sounds to good to be real, it probably isn't", or something to that effect is still alive and well, even in the knife world. At least when you get the real thing, you can appreciate it more now. Been there done that, got that T shirt, but on much more expensive items. Dave Ramsey calls it "stupid tax". I've paid a lot of it in my life time.:eek:
