Is the beam of the Arc Light brighter than the beam of the Mini-Maglight?? I know that they have basically the same run time, but I'm asking because I currently have a Mini Mag, and I want to know if it would be worth it to get an Arc Light.

Comparing LEDs to incandescent bulbs gets tricky.
The ArcLight appears brighter but the Mag will focus and throw the light farther.
Point them both down at the ground in front of you and the Arc will be putting out a larger and whiter beam but start to bring them up so that the beam points farther ahead of you and the light from the Arc will quickly dissipate.

In a small dark room, the Arc will light the entire wall with a nice bright glow while the Mag will put out a brighter spot of light.
Now move to a dark hallway:
The Arc will illuminate the area immediately in front of you but the Mag can throw its beam down the length of the hall allowing you to illumine what you want to see.

I'd get the Arc anyway for its ease of carry and its neatness factor.
 
GJW, he is referring to a mini mag-lite, which is just about the exact same shape as an Arc lite, maybe 4mm longer.

In my opinion (I have had 2 mini mags and 1 arc) there is NO comparison whatsoever. The arc is brighter, runs longer, and is more durable. If you're comparing a 2AA maglite with the Arc it's a little more even (the mag is brighter then of course)

it's not much of a comparison then, there are some 2AA LED flashlights that would compare but the Arc isn't as bright. The new arc flashlight should destroy the maglite once it is in production (it is 2AA)

It depends on how you will be using the light. If it is for up close task lighting the Arc is the best by far. Say working inside a computer or behind a desk the whiter and much smoother beam of the Arc make the light a lot more useable. The mag will yellow and dim considerably as the batteries die, while the Arc will stay true white and relatively constant output the whole time. Also since the Arc is much smaller you will be more likely to carry it all the time and then it will be more useful anyway :)
