And it's a good knife, bit soft steel for such a small one, and the handle is... design focused, but that's not why i made this thread.
I can't figure out why it is making clicking noises when i shake it.
It's actually kind of disturbing. They are fairly loud and seems as though they come from a metal ball or whatever trapped in a very small space, bouncing around.
It only happens when i shake it horizontally, from side to side, not vertically in the cutting direction.
It almost stops doing it while it's folded.
Is there a ball bearing in this knife?
Surely it can not be the screwless stop pin or lock pin that are making these noises, the pivot screw is rather tight.

I would imagine either the stop pin not being a proper fit or maybe one of the pillars holding the scales together is loose, my spydie chicago does the same thing with the lanyard tube

its most likely the stop pin. my recon1 does it. pin is too short in mine and lots of cs tri-ad locks and bounces back and forth, causing that rattling. everyone says it should have no effect on lock strength and function, but i agree it's annoying. one of these days i'll take mine apart and fix it. for now i don't shake it, and ignore it.:)

The stop pin and lockbar pin are press fitted so it's not them but the smaller pin that prevents the blade from hitting the internals when closed.

Easy fix you could either do right away or during maintenance...

I don't think it's the stop pin for the lock system, but the stop pin for when the blade is closed, to prevent the edge from hitting anything. On my Recon1 and Lawman this is a thin diameter (~1/16) steel pin. It might be a little shorter than the holes drilled for it, so if you take off one of the scales, you can put a tiny dab of glue or something in one of the holes to fill the space and prevent it from sliding back and forth.

... what Swegeek said.

Oh yea, i just remembered that my American lawman had one of those, oh well.
I like how balanced this thing is, i can throw it pretty well... WHOOPS, just landed it at a 40° angle and it wobbled like crazy. I'm surprised the thin tip help up.

Cold steel is like Bethesda softworks, they make a quality product with lots of weird design and marketing choices.

EDIT: LOL, i threw badly and it hit with the handle, bounced off and then stuck in my floor through my carpet

That is pretty hardcore that you throwing it in the house, are you throwing it at your bedroom door?

I might get that model for my father as a Christmas present, I gave him my first Large Voyager and I think he is only taking it on fishing trips and around the yard as it's a bit big for him to carry every day.
