I have a Nightvision.

Hi There,

Today I bought myself a SOG Nightvision.
The only thing is it came without a box.
What I would like to know is what are the details about the Nightvision.
Like were are the liners made of and what is the SV.... number, and when were they made.
I already have a Ti Vision and I like that knife a lot, the lock is great and fit and finnish is superb.

please help me with these questions.

Nice knife. I used to have a Night Vision & wish I kept it. I believe they have full SS liners, G-10 scales, & the blade steel is ATS-34. The Night Vision, X-Ray Vision, & Ti Vision all are a nice package. IIRC, they're all 4 5/8" closed, with a 3.75" blade.

What do you mean by "what is the SV number"? Are you asking the RC hardness? If so, my guess is 58-60 RC. As for where they're made, I don't know. I don't remember, but I'd guess U.S. or Japan.

I liked the Night Vision more than the X-Ray Vision. The full SS liners & G-10 make it more sturdy & I like the polished blade finish compared to the X-Ray's bead-blast.

The SV number is probably the "production" number, I know the Ti version has the number SV68 and the Xray has SV72.
I read somewhere that the liners would be made of Ti for the Nightvision.

Ah, OK. I don't remember the # on my Night Vision (Been a while). Unless they've made changes, I thought the liners on the Night Vision are SS. Mine was (Magnetic) & it wasn't a light knife, either, especially compared to the X-Ray Vision.

There's no SV # on my X-Ray Vision, either & it's an older one in ATS-34.

It's a beautiful knife, I have also the Ti Vision so now it's a very nice pair.
I now own five SOG knives and they look very nice in my collection.
