Apparently there was a short run of these. The seller said he believes 41 were made. I got the last one he had.

According to the tracking number it shipped yesterday.

Here is a pic from the seller.

No fair rubbing it in our faces like that.... :p I can't wait until Buck actually puts them into real production like people keep hinting about.

Lucky guy! Still hanging out for when the production model comes on stream....

It got here yesterday.

Locks up solidly. No play at all. Smooth opening. The liner engages to the left side with plenty of room for wear.

I really like this knife. I have knifesterbated with it extensively since getting it. It opens very smooth ands still locks up tight. The liner hasn't moved. I don't think the liners are too thin. I wouldn't want to go any thinner than they are on these g-10 versions, but they seem to be the same thickness as many of my other knives.

I certainly hope they make more plain edge soon. I would like to buy another. I generally buy duplicates of the knives I like.

And get this... I have no reservations about using it. I often buy knives and then hate to use them. I don't like to get them all scratched up. After the first scratch it gets easier. Not so with the 882. It begs to be carried and used. I love the blade finish on it. Seems like I saw somewhere that future runs would be beadblasted. I wish they would stick with stonewash it is the perfect finish for a user knife.

I think Buck did a good job on these. I am really surprised they dont get much press. I did a search before I bought this one and there weren't many threads about the g-10 version. I found many about the TACCOM handled one. The g-10 model is a different animal.

I got one withcombo edge last week from the local distributor and apparently it was the only G10 version in South Africa. I like it a lot and added my views to the review request in the review forum.
