I JUST RECEIVED A PM FROM HIS WIFE SALLY, HERES WHAT IT READ!
Hey, Bill - This is JUST1MOR's wife, Sally. How ya doin'? Just wanted to let you guys know that Bill has been in the hospital since last Tuesday. He's still in the hospital and we're hoping he'll be home real soon. Sorry, I didn't get with y'all sooner. He had a blister from a sunburn on his lower leg pick up some kind of bacteria causing it to turn into a NASTY, NASTY sore. It grew, to say the least, into an open infected area about 10" long and 3" wide, missing by 1" of making a complete circle around his lower calf. After a brief visit thru the ER, they admitted him. Took a swipe sample for culturing to identify the strand of bacteria. So far they haven't been able to ID it. On top of that, his BP went to 197/113. In looking into that, they xrayed his kidneys in case they were the cause. His kidneys are full of cysts, but it's not polycystic renal disease. So, they're trying to find out what the heck is going on. I will keep you informed. Prayer lists, prayer lists. It's good to connect with you. Would you please spread the word. Thanks so much.
Sally
UPDATE AS OF THIS EVE
Hi Bill, it's Sally again. I just got home from the hospital and Bill might be coming home tomorrow or Wednesday. The swelling is down in his calve, his blood pressure is still a little high (140's / 100's) but the doctors said it could be because of all the infection & antibiotics going thru him. His ultrasounds on his kidneys & aorta are normal except for some small cysts which the doctor also said was normal. His cultures came back with two different types of bacteria that are too long for me to even attempt to spell or say. They are putting I/V antibiotics in him every 5-6 hours & topical dressings every 8 hours. I think he is just about at his wit's end being jabbed 2-3 times a day for blood work and he has had to have his I/V put in now 3 different times in different locations.
I will keep you guys updated on what's going on when I find out. I know he really misses being on here and talking to you guys, so hopefully he will be home at least sometime this week. Thanks for passing this along to the guys, keep good thoughts.
Thanks again,
Sally
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Bill, it's Sally again. I hope I am doing this right, I can not find the instructions Bill gave me the other night to do this, so I am trying to do this by memory and what looks familar.
Bill is heading home tomorrow. They are bombarding him with antibiotics tonight and in the morning, & he will have 2 antibiotics to take orally for the next 4 weeks. I will bet you his blood pressure will be down to as normal as it get's with him when he gets here as well. All he said tonight was just make sure the bed was cleared off and there was something with salt in the house .......
He is pretty exhausted right now, but I think it is mostly from boredom and not being able to get out except to walk the hallway on his floor. He got a package from Tenn. from a Jason Ion yesterday, I am "assuming" it is from one of the guys, but I have no clue what it is. At least he will have something waiting on him besides me, the cat & our Lab.
Thank you for passing along the notes for me, you guys must be something pretty special to him because all I hear from him when he is in the gun room is, "Sally, come here and look at this knife BA made", & I think another one is KFU or UFK or something like that. I must make 15 trips in there every night. I don't have to worry about exercising as long as he is on the forum with you guys.
Take care, and thanks again for all you did.
Sincerely,
Sally
