I am too much of a craftsman!!!

I am permanently hooked on making knives. The problem is I love it all. I love making hunting type knives and I love making kitchen knives. I made a skinner and a fillet. I'm soon to attempt a few utility/hiking knives and even some hawk/hatchets. In addition, I've made some custom presentation boxes. I have made a couple of paracord rifle slings. I have made a couple of kydex sheaths and wanna make a kydex holster for my Sig Pro.

I can't stop myself!!! I don't have time for all this... I love my family... I'm afraid they'll forget what I look like!!!

Well, on the brightside; you're doing something that keeps you around the house. (presuming your work shop is at home)
You might try inviting some of the family to help you with some of your projects. You never know they might have some hidden talents.
I know the best times I ever had with my dad were in the shop working on cars, farm equipment, or anything else he was tinkering with.

The thing to do is bring your family into the hobby. Let your wife pick out the type of handle material to use. Let your kids learn how to stitch together sheaths. Put the dog to work sweeping the shop floor.

Some will accuse you of running a sweat shop and threaten to call Child Protective Services. But you'll know that the family that works together, stays together... OR ELSE!!!

;)

My wife says I'm rugged-looking... although by her tone, I'm not sure if it's a compliment.

In all truth, I'm surprised I have time for my "hobby/obsession." I have four kids--3 of them teenager daughters --who are active in sports and school. I try not to miss their events, so my shop time is usually late in the evening.

The dogs are always following me, so I might as well put them to work.

I have re-developed the knife making bug the past few months. Many things have changed since I made my last knife in about 2005. I got married, have a 3 year old and one on the way, have a garage to work in not a pea packing shed, I actually live in a house now not a trailer (with wheels attached), and youtube is here to feed the addiction when not in the garage. I am very familiar with your delimma. I gave my wife a knife for her birthday because she likes them and I knew it would earn some extra time in the shop. Whenever my son is around I try to include him in what I am doing and if that doesnt work I quit and play monster trucks or t-ball. When they go to bed I really consume myself in my projects and then it gets late and I rush to get as much done as I can. I love being a husband and a dad and I love the fact that I have a long list of cool stuff to do as soon as I can, just as much as actually doing them.
