I find that I deploy my knives several times, I mean SEVERAL times a day even when I don't need them. I brings me joy. I have a serious problem and I'm wearing out my knive's actions prematurely because of my problem. Argh!

So not only is my left wrist almost bald but I am prematurely wearing out all my EDC's! Damnit!

I think it's like when you just start wearing a watch, or chain. you just keep fiddleing with it constantly until you get used to it being there.

We can fix your problem.

Send all your knives to us. We will hold them for you until you can restrain yourself.

Then we will send them back only a bit more worn out by frequent random openings than when you sent them to us.

i not only take out my knives at random times just to play with them, sometimes i will even slash a few imaginary bad guys in addition.

I recently picked up a SOG Twitch II. It's my first assisted opener. I cannot resist removing it from my pocket, and repeatedly opening and closing it when I'm doing something that doesn't require my full attention.

This includes reading forums, and walking back to my car after my night class. It's only a matter of time before I freak somebody out.

But then, I figure it's better to fiddle with a knife than a cigarette :D

You are all a lot of help. I don't know what I'd do without you and your sympathy and concern :D

Just wait til you get a waved Emerson.

Ker-Thwack!

you think ya got it bad? I clean and oil my folders daily. I lay them all out on the table, wipe em down with Hoppes #9, dry them and add a drop of OTIS gun oil to the pivots. I wipe the blades down , open and close and few times, then wipe down with a clena rag. .

You think that's bad :D

2-3 years ago, I used to take apart my carry knife every other day to hand polish the phosphur(sp?) bronze bushings, lock and tang face, and all moving contact areas.

I think it was a BM425. I had that knife smooth as silk.

I believe what you call a problem is actually quite healthy for anyone on this forum :). I would also call prematurely wearing out the action on an EDC breaking it in. When I watch a movie at home, I will sit there opening and closing my EDC for hours :).

:D atleast you don't randomly open one up "juggle" it for a while then close it and try to "drop" it in your pocket.

The only knife that I repeatedly opened and closed was the Native. At home and in the car, click and close.

But, yes, they are all oiled twice a month or so, even when they don't do anything.

iam in the same boat! i have my wife in a 2 piece bikini and she flicks my knifes open and cleans them for me and now i got best of both worlds! no joke, this is real and she likes it and her favorite is the spydie rainbow butterfly knife! shes dam good with it in her skimpie clothes
