So im going up to my family's house up in northern wisconsin. Its in the woods on the lake and i want to bring up a knife or two. well right now i have 5 that im bringing. I just got 3 new moras in the mail today so they are in and my jk aniversary knife has to go a mora #1 thats in my fishing bag and an enzo trapper. I probably wont even get to use them all but there is no way i can go with out them. the real problem is that there is about a half dozen more knives in the garage that are crying because i told them they couldnt go. My name is Erik and i found out today that im a knife knut. dam it.

After reading your confession/admission, yeah, I'd say you are a certified knife knut. Talking to your knives is an unmistakable symptom:D

You are nicer than me. There is no way a mora would come out to play when an JK and enzo was around.

I would let the Mora come for kitchen tasks, but the others would be getting outdoor use more

you got to learn to keep your companion knives happy and give them all the love and attention they deserve , and make sure the silly stay at home knives believe you really do love them , and the others dont mean anything to you

that way , the whole family is happy

If I were you, I would leave all my knives at home and buy some new ones in Wisconsin.:)

Didn't think you could still buy knives in Wisconsin. Don't tell Doyle they're still legal, he'll put it on his priority list to make sure Wisconsin has stricter knife laws than the UK.

Being a knife knut isn't so bad. It's easy to cure, you just keeping buying blades until you find the right one;)..

Bring as many as you can! The knives you listed are meant to be used.

I've never had a problem buying a knife in WI, and I've lived here most of my life. Nor have I ever been hassled for carrying/using a small or large knife on private land or public campgrounds. The only folks who ever asked me about anything I was carrying, including park rangers, just wanted to check them out.

Have fun in God's Country! :)

Geeez man, stop the whine and suck it up! You think there is one person in this forum that hasn't face the same issue dozens of time? Huh? DO YOU? Now grab that old grimy daypack, fill it up with all your blades, and DEAL WITH THE EXTRA WEIGHT!

And if they all fit in one daypack then you need MORE.....

:D

At my last outting I took 35 knives in a locking box and two on my waste. Everyone thought I was cool. You can be a knife nut. Just pick the right friends. You can find a picture of our knives on the RAT Mischief thread. Since I am here on this thread you can easily see how I spend my time. There are many worse things to be addicted too. Just be sure to buy food and pay the rent before buying more knives.

so i didnt get to use my knifes that much. I was kinda upset. i didnt even get a fire started. I was up there though for my sons christening. We did it in the lake were i spent my summers and my grandmas ashes are spread. I love it up there. Ill be back up in two weeks so i will make sure i get time to spend with the woods. I did make sure i fished. after a few hours on the lake i was so zonked i just wanted to drink beer and go to bed. oh well. I will take my camera with me next time too. I saw a bald eagle and a loon came within a foot of my pontoon while anchored. oh well. at least i got some time away from the suburbs.

dont worry about it to much , I often pack up a lot of knives , 3 or 4 machetes , a handful of fixed blades , a few folders ... take em all the way across the continent and only use my regular knives anyway ...

but look on the bright side , the ones you took know you love them , you just have to make it up somehow to the others now

Is that the symptom or when they start answering back?

It's O.K. if they answer, as long as they speak in your voice. If it's someone else's voice you should seek medical attention:p

Erik - its O.K. you’re among enablers, I mean friends :D

I would feel bad for you except that I have the disease even worse that you do. I mean how are you going to squeak by with less than ten. knives.

I have a gatemouth bag from Bucket Boss that is completely full of knives, that I take with me every time I head out of town. You never know when the opportunity will present itself to try out a blade.

Pack 'em all!
