Greetings from the East Coast of Canada!

I just made my third purchase from H.I. It was from an older post, I kept going back to look at it, I liked it, so I finally asked if it was still available. It was available and it is.

"19 inch 29 ounce Sirupati by Dhan Bahadur. Slight shrinkage of satisal wood handle arund the brass buttcap area and the karda, chakma are missing. Steel cost at $78."

However, this has nothing to do with my question.

My question is.

I've seen most of the knives are described with the kami who made them. The chainpura knives from Chainpur are not described with a kami's name. Please give me information regarding these particular knives.

Thanks in advance,

Ken K

These are knives made in the Chainpur area of Nepal, which is known for that style. They are hand selected so that they are the same level of quality as the knives made by Himalayan Imports.

What ^^^ he said. They are not officially HI knives. They are hand selected by Pala usually or the shop manager for their good quality.
Not all Kami's over there put their mark on each knife, pretty much another exclusive for Himilayan Imports.

Still a fine knife or they wouldn't sell them, I guess in a round about way as usual, that's what I'm trying to say.

The marks are why I pretty much buy HI over other companies, that and the superior quality control.

Do the managers from HI go around looking for other blades, or do the kamis from other places come by to HI with the knives?

I don't know for certain, but I suspect it's the former. HI is in a small village, and they don't advertise their presence. If I was given the right name, I even tried to find the village in Wikipedia, and the village doesn't have an article.
