First off I asked the same thing from Becker Knife&Tool, I am requesting a Knife company make a copy of John "Lofty" Wiseman's Survival Tool. Still no reply on the Becker side, this is a great looking Bush Blade but the British will not make it because well they are a little Soft right now on Knives. I think 1095 would be agreat steel for this blade.

You know what I want from Wiseman? I want a copy of his water-resistant "Flick Book." I don't think they are printed anymore.

but like you said, I don't think they are being made anymore. I really want that Survival Tool more than anything.

Rick,

Can you scan a picture of it and send it to me or take a picture of the picture if you don't have a scanner?

I think this is it. Looks like a nice design but I would prefer a different handle.

The handle could be made with the same Micarta that Rat uses on all their Knives.

I don't like the false edge. Looks pretty, but it has to go.

That's pretty much why we keep RAT Cutlery knives as simple, plain designs. Simplicity has worked for eons and when you start getting into someone's idea of a survival knife there always seems to be a lot of debate on the design. I think a lot of designers have it in their head to make it different so it will be unique to them. All that's fine, but again, most folks around the world use simple designs.

I'd try contacting one of the custom makers here on BF, I'm sure one of them would be willing to make a knife for you based off that design.

Simplicity of design is a form of elegance unto itself. Plus it generaly leads to reliable funtion.
