A pivot screw. I find my self having to re-tighten the pivot screw on my Benza alot. Is this normal??? I can't seem to get the right torque on it. It is eather so tight the blade is stiff or not tight enough and the screw tries to work it's self out. Any help would be nice. Thanx.

Toolin:
The pivot screw is supposed to be tight. Something must be wrong with the washers or maybe you put it together wrong or maybe there is some dirt in the pivot area. I would recommend that you take it apart and reassemble it. The screw should be tight, the washers take care of the rest.

Scott Dog is right. There is only one way to tighten a Sebenza's screws, all of them tighten completely but not oo far, because the sleeve over the screw sets the invariantly correct spacing.

If yours is off, it may well be that the knife was reassembled with one or both washers not precisely centered -- I have a hard time with this myself, and often have to try it two or three times to get it right. If you tighten it with off-center washers, you can damage them, and the blade won't pivot smoothly, either.

These two have said it all.
Had the same problem for a few moments the first time I took mine apart. ;)
Take your time, when it goes together right you'll 'feel it'...

This is indeed the problem!

IIRC what you want to do is....

God yes, the re-assmebly info is VERY important to stop the washers and bearing from coming adrift during assembly. Trust me! You have to fit the blade into the handle and sqweeze the handle tight, then fit the screw and female part. Otherwise the bearing will move ONTO one of the washers. The blade will then be very tight and the lockbar will go over too far.

This is the only way to avoid this problem. Read Annes advice and follow it to the letter! Cheers!

Oh and I BTT the FAQ for you as well!

Problem fixed, thanx guys. I took my Benza apart about 2 hours after I got it to check it out. I must not have put it back right. I tried it this time making sure to clean everything, and put it together the right way. I still can't belive how great my baby is. I loved it before, but I always hated having to tighten the pivot screw every day. Now it's perfect. BTW, I was so happy that I requested the last Mnandi from www.bladeart.com. More on that in my other post. Thanx again guys.
