I was compareing my ESEE 4 and RC 4 back to back, hand to hand and i realized two things immediately. The choil on the ESEE was bigger than the RAT. I held them useing the choil in both hands and the choil is definetly larger on the ESEE.

The other thing i noticed was that the ESEE was also longer than the RAT cutlery knife. I was totally suprised! I checked the thicknesses between the two and aside from the RC 4 being a tad stouter at the tip of the blade they are the same.

I am not at all worried about it, just reporting some observations and saying a special thanks to Jeff and Mike for makeing these incredible knives and giving me a little bit of extra 1095. Thanks guys!

this pic was with both knives with the pommels on the countertop.

as i said before. I have NO complaints. Fit and finnish is excellent as always. What the hell, i am just going to cut, beat and chop the paint off of em anyways:D

I have to stop playing with my ESEE 3 and 5 and start beating on my 4's a bit more...i am almost ashamed at how unused my RC 4 looks..but i dont use it for splitting alot of big timber, so i guess its not a big deal.

I don't think they intentionally made it longer. I would guess it's just a product of being ground by hand, the blade is not going to be the same each time. I have two Izulas, and one has a lot more belly than the other.

Absolutely. When i used to have my Fallkniven A1 and S1 the laminate lines were never even..its just the way it goes. It doesnt take away from the knife at all. I then got into ESEE knives and sold all of my fallknivens :D

Yep, our knives will sometimes have a little difference in them because many of the processes are done by hand.
