I came into a Valor 175-LBX knife and have a question. It has about 10 different gagets on it and was wondering if anyone know anything about this knife. I have been googling and not finding much. Nothing with this number on it. The guy who gave it to me thought the man who gave it to him said he had it during WWII. No sure if that is true but that is what he told me.
thanks

I so totally have one of those. It was my mother's. still have it kicking around somewhere. don't know much about it. I'll ask her.

Not sure it's exactly the same one. Does yours have the bottle opener and can opener on the same tool? I can't tell from the picture.

I've checked mine out. it appears to be the same knife.

My mother got it from my father, who got it from an uncle (his uncle) who got it when he served in the army. Haven't been able to talk to the uncle though. He's out hunting somewhere.

Mine does not say Valor on it but looks to be the same knife. It should have a sheath similar to the one here with mine. The lid from my scanner kind of squished it down some but you can get the idea I think.

I've used this knife for well over 30 years as a camping companion. I can't tell you how many beanie weenies and baked beans and other campers meals have been eaten with it. All that is on my knife is on the back of the sheath where is simply reads " Occupied Japan". No writing or any ID at all on the knife anywhere. I do note that my main blade is a clip point and my other blade is not the same shape as yours either but the rest of the tools or gadgets appear to be identical. It may be that yours has been reprofiled or sharpened down though.

Here is another scan of mine for comparison. They appear to be different years of the same model to me but I could be wrong. It is hard to tell how many companies were making these. Mine was given to me by my dad and he had it for quite a while before giving it to me so it is old I know that much. I'm going to say it is a safe guess to date these from the mid to late 40s early 50s. Some may even be from the early 40s. Its just hard to tell really with no numbers or IDs on them.

hey STR,

mine looks identical to yours, but no nifty sheath. I might have been inclined to carry mine if I had a sheath like that. From what I can find it was an army issue, But nothing really solid on that.
