Hello Fellow porch dwellers,
I have experienced something that I wanted to share with you all. For the last couple weeks I've been trying to open and expand my mind/attitude about different types of knives. As I'm sure you all know ( because I won't shut up about it) I'm a med stockman guy. Specifically the Buck 303 is my favorite knife. Anyway i started checking out other stuff and was going thru the " show us your 15's" thread and saw some very beautiful knives and one style in particular the swell end jack with an end cap. Wow these speak to me. I've always loved the old ones and even own a couple of " loved to death" examples but I had no idea there was a modern version ( yes I live under a rock).
So I commented on a few pics of them that I thought they were so very nice, marked them down on my " hunt for someday" list and moved on. Later that evening I received a pm from a member here that I don't think I'd had much contact with asking for my mailing address and telling me how honored he would be if I would accept a gift from him! I was floored...amazed...excited...humbled...well you get it. This person said he wouldn't tell me what it was but based on a few comments I'd made he was sure I'd like it. Well what could I do I responded with my address and a heart felt thanks and began to wait!
I didn't have to wait long because not only did he send me a gift, he sent it priority mail! I received that package yesterday and well I was speech less. Inside it was a NIT GEC 15 single spear blade antique yellow jigged scales with that sweet end cap! What a beauty. I'm in love with this thing and you can bet it will get lots of pocket time.
So that's the what part, now for the who part.
I'm sure you all know this man. He is a God fearing kind hearted generous soul of a man that I am honored to call friend. So when you see him around tell Ron- Half/Stop thank you from me, heck from all of us because he is the spirt of what we want this place to continue to be. He makes the porch a better place and makes me want to be not only a better dweller here but a better person in the world!!
Thank you Ron for the gift, the renewed faith and the friendship.
May God Bless you and yours.
