Hello Fellow porch dwellers,
I have experienced something that I wanted to share with you all. For the last couple weeks I've been trying to open and expand my mind/attitude about different types of knives. As I'm sure you all know ( because I won't shut up about it) I'm a med stockman guy. Specifically the Buck 303 is my favorite knife. Anyway i started checking out other stuff and was going thru the " show us your 15's" thread and saw some very beautiful knives and one style in particular the swell end jack with an end cap. Wow these speak to me. I've always loved the old ones and even own a couple of " loved to death" examples but I had no idea there was a modern version ( yes I live under a rock).
So I commented on a few pics of them that I thought they were so very nice, marked them down on my " hunt for someday" list and moved on. Later that evening I received a pm from a member here that I don't think I'd had much contact with asking for my mailing address and telling me how honored he would be if I would accept a gift from him! I was floored...amazed...excited...humbled...well you get it. This person said he wouldn't tell me what it was but based on a few comments I'd made he was sure I'd like it. Well what could I do I responded with my address and a heart felt thanks and began to wait!
I didn't have to wait long because not only did he send me a gift, he sent it priority mail! I received that package yesterday and well I was speech less. Inside it was a NIT GEC 15 single spear blade antique yellow jigged scales with that sweet end cap! What a beauty. I'm in love with this thing and you can bet it will get lots of pocket time.

So that's the what part, now for the who part.

I'm sure you all know this man. He is a God fearing kind hearted generous soul of a man that I am honored to call friend. So when you see him around tell Ron- Half/Stop thank you from me, heck from all of us because he is the spirt of what we want this place to continue to be. He makes the porch a better place and makes me want to be not only a better dweller here but a better person in the world!!

Thank you Ron for the gift, the renewed faith and the friendship.
May God Bless you and yours.

Clay.....God always plays a part.....don't give two craps what the main-stream says. Do unto others my friend......it returns!!

Sweet blade, sweeter story. People go on and on around here, keeping it the best forum around.
Thanks, Neal

Very knice gesture, congrats for you and good on Ron, he's a great example of the type of people who frequent the porch.

That's the right kind of victim to be! Wonderful people on the porch!

Beautiful knife congratulations Clay on receiving one of the random acts of kindness that seem to be the heartbeat of the porch. Ron is one of the finest members the porch has to offer. He runs with two other very kind folks here Paul and Duncan and it is amazing what these guy's have done and still do for other members of the porch that most folks don't know. So here's kudos to these Three Musketeers of the Porch.

I cannot say enough good things about Ron. He does much more than what folks see here on the porch. You can't ask for a better friend.

Good stuff Ron, that's a great-looking knife

In my humble opinion, there are many things which keep this sub-forum great. They include the posting guidelines, which include:

This is not the "Political" or "Current Events" sub-forum nor is it the appropriate area for the examination of religious topics, beliefs or proselytizing.
We have many nationalities, faiths and beliefs represented here so please be considerate of the feelings of the other members of our community and keep religious and nationalistic messages and statements out of forum posts.
