As I have been collecting several folding knives for a while now, I began rotating them as my EDC for several months, after a while I realized that while all these knives are quaility and made with good premium steels. None of them have the pocket-ability, deployment, and ergonomics of my earth brown Spyderco Paramillitary II (S35VN). I took it with me on a recent camping trip and carried it every day and used it for many task. Since then, I have found that the rest of my knives sit on the shelf and this is the knife I want in my pocket all the time. I have come to the realization that this is the knife for me. Upon drawing this conclusion, I listed 3 of my other knives in the 100 dollar range, up for sale, and today I used the proceeds to purchase the Paramillitary II Blue Sprint run in M390. I cant wait to get it.

How about you guys, have you found "your knife", the one that kicks all others out of your
pocket and you want with you every day?

I think I have found it.....SOG Flash II. Cheap, big enough blade, yet light and small enough for EDC in a front pocket. I have been carrying it everyday for almost 4 years now. I am not a big folder guy but this knife just seems to work. It is currently getting a bit of a run for its money by an Izula. No worries though. Both are small enough to be carried daily at the same time.

Good to hear you've found something you really like, however, I'm pretty sure that your tastes will change over the years and what you find in your pockets months, years and decades from now will keep changing. Remember that your "favorite" knife is always the next one you buy!

Part of the fun is in the search. Once you find it then what will you do?

I've found my perfect EDC numerous times, going from a Gerber LST to a Benchmade AFCK to a Benchmade Leopard. My progression of almost 40 years is shown in the first photo.

The second photo shows my current selection of EDC. I got re-enthusiastic about folders and picked out the contemporary models that I was most interested in- Spyderco PM2 and Tenacious, Kershaw Blur, Benchmade Stryker and Barrage, and Bradley Alias. I'm still evaluating which I like best. The PM2 is the best from a strictily using standpoint but it doesn't completely fit my idea of aesthetics so I'm liking the Stryker and Barrage too.

But I've also learned from other hobbies that I don't have to pick just one favorite. I only have to pick a favorite wife and favorite daughter, everything else I can have more than one favorite. So for now I'm happy to count all of these as my favorites. If I did choose just one as a favorite, I know that eventually I would find another to replace it.

I have found "My Knife" about once a week. I think that is what makes knives so enjoyable. You find the perfect knife until the next one comes along........ then you re-discover that knife you haven't carried in a long time. This week "My Knife" is the Spyderco Vallotton. It has been for the past 2 weeks but I know soon enough I'll start handling something totally different from my collection and that will be "My Knife".

The blue PM2 is not a sprint run. It's a dealer exclusive. The dealer selling it is supposed to get some in December and they will be under $200... if you can wait that long.

I cant wait until then, ....want it now, besides no telling how fast they will sell out in December. I could end up waiting and still not get one at the dealer price. I paid $260.00 for it and am willing to pay that to have it now.

The orange ones from The Cutlery Shop, in XHP will also be getting more in December, and if I can, may purchase that one if I'm able to get it.

The Green one should be shipping (CTS-204P) very soon. If you're patient, you can catch a good deal in the exchange when they start going up. Don't bite too early (when the gougers first start listing them) and the market will settle down for a bit before they're all gone.

Happens with almost every limited-run knife out there.

Recon 1 is mine. Just the one that I keep going back to. Still buy other knives, but the Recon 1 gets the most pocket time by far

Small CRK Insingo is mine. Has booted all other knives out..... well, at least for a month that is.

I think I have found mine. The 3" Hinderer XM-18 flipper slicer. I just can't go anywhere without it and as every day goes by my CRKs are gathering dust in my drawer... It's with me 24/7 (well next to me on the nightstand when I'm asleep).
