I have issues!

So, I used to carry a knife religiously. Either my CRKT M16-03 or my Benchmade Ascent (I have better knives, but when I was younger, these were what I had and fit me well). When I got a used super tinker from my Uncle, I carried that a ton. I now have a Swisschamp and Swisstool which I adore, but since I don't work with my dad much anymore, and there isn't much to do around my new place, I don't feel I carry a knife as much anymore. That, and the police around here if after 11, tend to stop people, and I don't need any trouble with them, they look for any reason to write you up, and I don't want my knife confiscated. I want to get back into the habit of carrying a knife! It's weird to go from carrying everyday, to grabbing a knife and feeling like you know you probably won't need it, but it's a missed part of your life. So, I need to start carrying my knives again! I found today I needed a screw driver to fix a buddies reel, but had nothing on or around me. I need to get back into the habit of carrying, but don't know how to stick to my goal. Lol, i've tried to, and i will for a few days, but then when i don't use the tool or knife, i kind of just put it back and say whatever to it because I know it probably won't be used, but the day after i stop I need it! If i'm going away and know tools won't be available I definately carry, but if i'm around the house and know there are tools here, i don't. I used to carry even if i was around my toolbox! Haha. So yeah, give me some ideas to get me back into the habit. I have a nightstand with all my knives on it. Not that it's important to this post but i'll list them if you want to put a decent EDC together for me.

-Timberline Kelly Worden Large Tactical (Plain)
-Benchmade Benchmite II (Plain)
-Victorinox Swisschamp
-Victorinox Swisstool (Original)
-Buck Xtract
-Buck 110
-Spyderco Caly 3 (ZDP-189 and Carbon Fiber, Plain)
-Kershaw Blur (Plain)
-Benchmade Griptilian 551 (Partial Serrations)
-Mora Clipper 860 (Fixed, stainless, plain)
-JK Seraphim (Fixed, 01 Steel, Plain)
-Puma White Hunter

The last 3 I carry in the woods depending on my mood, but mostly the JK. I would LOVE to EDC it, it is legal, but I don't want people bugging out or the cops giving me problems. I purchased/designed it to be used as EDC, but i don't know if i should carry it or not.

Would a CT cop seriously give you trouble over a swiss army knife? Outside of a few towns there aren't many cops that pull people over unless you're doing more than 10 over the limit and plowing through stop signs up around these parts. lol ;)

Best thing I ever did was loan out a bunch of my knives and multi tools at once, but kept my leatherman (Charge tti that had a clip which was handy) Got my friends understanding why I had a knife and how much easier some things became, and I had to use a leatherman only for a while (which mattered at the time because it was the most expensive knife I had then, and I wasn't carrying it)

Might give that a shot. My boss always carries a multitool/SAK in his backpack for work, that combined with a flashlight works well for IT stuff, but YMMV of course.

Nah, it's not so much the swiss army knives, more so my pocket knives. I've been stopped so many times at night just for walking down the main road my road is off of.... or riding my bike... or talking to somebody. My town is rediculous. i got told one time if there were any damages to houses on the road i would be the first one called, the cops around here are asses. If i do carry a multi tool i'll carry the swisschamp & swisstool together along with a pocket knife for ease of use.

Im sorry to hear it, im on the shoreline in CT and i gotta say, the cops are pretty cool towards me. I dont know how old you are, perhaps that is causing you problems?

A bit of Googling for Connecticut knife laws shows that any folding knife with a blade under 4" long is clearly legal. Of course, laws only protect people who can afford lawyers, and it sounds like you're experiencing "only young black man in town" levels of attention from the cops.

With that in mind, I'd go with the Buck 110, as it's a good solid knife for very little money and will therefore (hopefully) not break your bank account when you have to keep replacing knives stolen by the cops.

Put a classic or rambler on your key chain.. Yup theyre small, but very2 usefull. Or carry a sportsman. I edc 2 knives.always a sak and a small one hand opening folder for emergency.

I'm almost 23, dress respectively and don't show any signs of being a problem. When walking at night i'm usually just coming home from my girlfriends house about a mile away. But the kids in this town demolish everything, so i see where they're coming from, but the cops take it wayyyyyyy over the top most of the time, so who knows what would happen if they found a knife on me.

Found a use for my swisschamp. Got a splinter from my deck yesterday and it was buried to the point where i could see it under my skin, but couldnt grab it. So i pulled the pin out, picked the hole open then used the tweezers to lift it out. Also used the large blade to cut rope & the pliers to bend some light wire.

I'd get a Vic alox Cadet. It'll do most of what you might need a knife to do, and you've got some tools for the odd job that might crop up. It's nice and compact, you won't even know you're carrying it till you need it.
I can't believe a cop would give you any hassle over a Cadet.

Well, i'm on limited funds, so for now i'm stuck with what i have. I'd love to aquire some type of alox vic, whether it's the farmer or soldier, i like both. For now i'm stuck carring what i have. And i don't think the cop would give me issues on a sheathed folder, it's not quickly accessable and if it's sheathed its either one of my tools or a buck 110, which i keep immaculate. How many trouble makes care about their knives? lol.
