but it really doesn't matter, I get the Idea!

And man I feel bad for that little Eskabar.....

That thing sure does hold up well under all that abuse.

This would make me go out and buy one if I didn't have one already.

Wonder how the D2 will hold up compared to the 1095? I want one of those bad.

I figured I'd share this video I found since it was such a crazy test.

Enjoy.

you can get english subtitles if you click the CC button in the bottom right cluster of the video.

Yup, subtitles help. Honestly I'm not surprised. I am anything but nice to knives and Becker knives can stand up to some pretty heavy abuse.

That was cool!
That took a lot of punishment...and asked for more.

Liked that video! The eskie can stand up to many things, so I'm not that surprised. I also like seeing others push their blades through sheeth metal, I find it hilarious.

Sure beats watching someone cut frikkin water bottles all day.

In response to your actual question -- D2 will be harder/tougher, it'll hold a working edge longer, but be more difficult to get an insanely polished laser scalpel edge.
you'll want diamond stones/hones to sharpen it.
it's also rust resistant -- won't tarnish or patina very easily, but a stonewash finish will develop a sprinkling of orange speckles in a salty/high humidity environment (like a front pocket when hiking/camping in 95 degree 95% humidity)

fun test

the D2 should be interesting.

big thing with the D2 - a little harder, and basically stainless - still rust free. just darker. not even a patina per se.

Another question on the D2: would the tip hold up as well as the one on the 14 did when he pried through that piece of wood and through the metal sheets? Would it not flex less and break quicker at a higher Rockwell Hardness? Or would the difference not be thàt extreme.

Sure beats watching someone cut frikkin water bottles all day.

You can say that again!

I would expect D2 to be less-tough than 1095 at a given hardness.

Sure beats watching some clown cut water bottles

Thanks!

Sure does make me happy..... And it sure does make me proud of KaBar........Damn, I enjoyed that......

Thank You Dex for finding that and posting it up........
