I have questions on the knife: NRA 12500(benchmade)

Hi, I have some questions for this beautiful knife:

1) why is it there?..it only weakens the strength
2) bilt system is really so fragile?
3) I think the handle will soon be unstable?

4) has knife micro-chipping when cutting or not?(due to steel 440C)
5) the knife is balanced?

I own this knife, and the BILT system sucks. Dumb idea. However, the blade is phenomenal! So, what to do??? I took off the entire handle and made a new one by multiple dipping in Plasti-Dip and careful forming while it dried. Been like that for 2 years, has seen plenty of use, and I love it.

I've never had a problem with the edge at all. It holds an edge well and is easy to sharpen. Just use it sensibly; it isn't an ax or a machete.
