I just got what I would consider my first truly high-end knife in the mail yesterday, this beautiful Strider SNG and wow am I blown away. I have a couple ZTs and they're fantastic knives, but this is just on a completely different level. I knew it would be good, but not this good. The smoothness is unreal and the build quality is fantastic. Looks like I'm gonna be letting some other knives go to acquire a PT now haha. Thanks for the addiction BF...

Oh no. Now you have done it. Next will be a CRK and then a Hinderer.

Hahaha, congrats. :)

As a ZT 0550 and 0566 owner, I've had the opposite takeaway from handling Sebenzas and such. When I do, I wind up walking away saying, "I get the same steel quality for $200 less. The difference in fit & finish is irrelevant with regard to functionality. Better product, yes. Better tool, no."

Having said that...

I have a raging stiffy for Striders. I know they won't *function* better than my 0550, but I want one anyway!

LMAO Up until I got this Strider my ZT560 was king of the hill. Love the knife, but man oh man dat Strider doe haha

I remember when I got my SnG, same as you my first high end knife. I was almost shaking! when I opened the package I was in awe... "so this is what a 400$ looks and feels like"
enjoy!

Welcome to the party!

And yes, you are right it is highly addictive. Heck, even I can I can hear your wife complaining already.. :)

In case you weren't aware, the SnG name is in honor of these guys. That's why the n is not capitalized. http://www.badassoftheweek.com/gordonandshughart.html

Gavin, I am in debt to you for your post. I had forgotten about this, if indeed I had ever known it. I have owned ten or more SnG's and now will need to get another...in honor of these two heroes of Mogadishu... Gordon and Shughart
God bless our heroes, and us too, if HE has enough time...

I had a flamed Ti/Tigerstripe SnG and loved it, definitely regret selling it. Enjoy it!

Thanks Don. Strider never advertised the fact to boost sales by association, and that is to be commended, IMO. The tale of Gordon and Shughart is so amazing and heroic it sounds like fiction. The bravery they showed is the stuff legends are made of.
