I have been a fan of fixed blades all my life, never was a fan of folders. They just didn't appeal to me. Until yesterday. I knew I had to buy a good EDC folder, and chose between a spyderco wegner, and a benchmade griptillian.
Personally, I didn't like the grip of the tillian much. It felt too cheap (although I KNOW thid is not the case) Also, I admired the wegner ever since I saw an add about it in a gun-nut magazine in 2001. But I never expected a folder of that size to fit comfortably in my small hands. However, it just opened (and in general) felt like a dream. Since I am not a fan of black coating, all factors combined, the Wegner was the obvious choice for me. Especially since the store manager, who is a friend and fellow collector, told me that the line was discontinued.
I just cannot believe what I have been missing all these years, just buying fixed blades only. Next purchase will definantly be a nice auto BM
It's a whole new world for me. Just thought of sharing this experience with you guys... Nice christmas hollidays to all of you and your families!
(I just heard that I will recieve my shoulder rig for my 2 SOG desert daggers shortly after christmas. Isn't santa the best?)
