Just wanted to post up my new bush blade. Member Marcelo Cantu was kind enough to sell it to me after I had been lusting after it for at least a year now. Thank you Marcelo. You're a great guy. I wanted something a little larger than my BRKT Kephart but the same general shape. This knife fits the bill. Large enough to do some serious work yet not too big as to become clumbsy in the hand. The beautiful handles are very comfortable and can work all day long without becoming a problem. Nice thin blade bites deep into wood, vegetation, and meat. Can't say enough good things about this knife or the member I got it from.

You scored. They can be ordered as customs but that steel and the really nice maple are used up. I'm jealous ... should have ordered one a long time ago. Great knife.

Very nice. I too have had an infatuation with that knife ever since he posted it. I love my BHK bushcrafter but the larger handle on the scaaty has always appealed to me. Enjoy that, it looks awesome

Love that knife! Always wanted one but never picked one up for some reason. May have to rectify that after this reminder. :D

oh, any in-hand shots by chance?

Ya had to go post this. I am filled with remorse. :p Just kidding, I'm glad you like it bro.

You know I'd sell it back to you if that were true. Please god say it ain't true cause I love this knife. And everyone who has seen it has asked about it and then wanted to hold it. I'm sort of known for having the sharpest knives in my circle of friends. So everyone immediately wants to see how sharp it is. Thanks again for the great knife bro.

Amazing looking knife. First I've seen. How's the edge?

Marcelo sent it amazingly sharp. I polished the edge on my diamond power strop and it will split hairs. When you touch the edge with your finger tips... it begins to bite and try to break the skin with zero force. It's scary sharp.

What's special about the steel. I'm not very familiar with 4140. Seems to take a razor edge and hold it very very well. Would love to know more about it.

The steel really isn't special as far as super steels are concerned. The 4140 Cro-Mo were old saw blades that BHK acquired in a few different thicknesses. They used it for their Patch knives and then the Bushcrafter. Scaatylobo is a regular on KF and a regular at PWYP. He is friends with the BHK crew and asked for a larger ... more contoured handled blade than the Bushcrafter when the first run of Bushcrafters were made. I was on the list for the first Bushcrafters and when the Scaaty came out at the same time it blew us away. I love that steel and that wood. The 4140 is easy to sharpen and as you said takes a wicked edge. They have run out of that steel supply and the wood with that killer grain has dried up also. I don't think there were anywhere near ten Scaatys' made that way but I could be wrong. ... so for a BHK fan like me that is a special knife that can't be made again just like that.

Here are a few of my BHK blades in the same steel/wood that were made about the same time.

Notice ... no Scaaty. :(
