Okay my highly knowledgeable, highly opinionated forumites! It's been about 4 months since I've bought a knife and I'm getting a serious itch! :D

I'm looking for a medium sized locking folder for medium to heavy duty use..

I'm really looking for suggestions that don't include Benchmade, Spyderco, Kershaw, or Buck! I'd like to expand my collection into new territory, with my only caveat being that I can't go much over $100 bucks.

All suggestions highly welcome and appreciated!

Pictures would be great too :D

I was going to say hogue but I'm afraid that's outside your preferred price range... Don't think I'm much help beyond that unfortunately :/

How about a Cold Steel American Lawman or the Mini American Lawman if the large one is it to big. The TriAd lock seems to be as tough as it gets as well as the knife itself. Good Luck! Kevin :D

I just got myself a HK 14205 and i couldn't be happier. If you dont have one of these you have to jump on them before they're all gone since they were discontinued this year. A certain website has them at a sale price and i can pm you if you'd like the information.

CS Spartan. A little bigger but way more fun.

Is ZT ok? you could go for a 0350 if it is more EDC aimed, and the 0200 if it is more hard use aimed. slightly over the budget, but you said not much over.

ZT is not kershaw. they are owned by the same company, but they are completely different. if you already have a lot of ZTs as well, then look at the crkt ripple and see if it catches your fancy.

Why not try a Boker Plus M-Type? I was pretty impressed with the smaller Hyper model.

Or perhaps you could try a small fixed blade? Lots of nice options for under $100 out there, and if you're mostly a folder guy, it could be an enjoyable departure from the norm...

Good luck!

Thanks for the recommendations! I've researched some of them, and am liking what I see. :D

I have the ZT0200, which I love, and not really opposed to buying some of the others. I'd just like to experience some of the other many knives that I see mentioned here on the forum.

And let me edit my budget, for the right knife, I'm willing to pay up to say a couple hundred dollars, even if I have to wait and save.

So please, keep them coming!!

OK, here is something different. May not be what you are looking for, but just got this from Matt at MLKnives.

Friction folder Kephart in elk antler. I really like it. Definitely different.

Doc

Edit to add however, it is not a locking folder.

I would second an Emerson A-100. I was so impressed with the first one I got, I went and bought another one.
