I have the new BCCI newsletter

Here are the highlights:

C.J. is working with various organizations to try and get states to make automatics legal.

Lori Buck has a wonderful Christmas message in Lori's Corner.

Joe Houser take on the counterfeiters of Buck products as Buck's new Counterfeit Tzar, (that's what I'm calling him).

Larry Oden and Bert Lindsay have two great articles on the Buck Selector and 303 Cadet, respectively. Unfortunately after reading Larry's article I finally realized that I can no longer hold off adding a Selector to my collection so will start looking for one of those after the holidays. Who knows where that road will lead me to but I'm anxious to find out. Well done and thank you to both of you.

BCCI project knife is a Brahma version of the Buck 106 hatchet. Stacked leather with black oxide coating. Looks like a winner and good one to make my first Buck hatchet.

There's more but I haven't finished all of it yet. As noted these are the highlights at least for me.

The hatchet is looking pretty cool isn't it? I'm thinking I'll need one too......:)

**I've a pic I cropped out of the newsletter but wasn't sure if it'd be proper to include?

For those who have not received your newsletter in the mail yet it is available on the BBCI website.

I'm digging the Brahma hatchet. I had an old camp hatchet with a stacked leather handle, Eastwing if recall. Loved that thing... The leather is much nicer to grab when it's cold as... when it's pretty cold and I need some kindling.

Joe Houser deserves an illustrious title for his enormous achievement combating the Fakes from the Far East: They Are GONE. Try dropping "buck knife" into the EBay search box and search newly listed items. I can only find American and one Latvian sellers of fakes. Congratulations Joe. Thank you a million for taking out the garbage. Bravo. Hail the conquering hero. Please tell us about it if you can. I like a good war story.

BTW Badhammer, I've contacted the Americans and the Latvian and I've reasoned with them. Joe must swing a bigger, ah, hammer than I.

Thank you Joe.
About two years ago I quit using the "Buck knife" search because it was so hard to find a "real" Buck Knife. Now it is way better. Best part is Bucks sales will most likely go up because people are buying real Buck knives.

Yes, Joe is the hammer and I'm glad he found his nail. He just needs to keep hammering away.

Let me praise Oregon as the Buck Forum hammer on fakes also. I believe our forum sticky started by him was important ammo in getting this to be a priority.

Hats off to Joe Houser as well as to Oregon for their efforts. Joe has a way to have an impact on getting these sellers listings removed but I think ours falls on deaf ears. I reported all the Buck listings the Latvian seller has about a week ago and just noticed every one of them has been relisted again this morning. I have done this before with the same results. The general seller reporting these sellers has no impact on ending their sales. I will no longer be wasting my time reporting them. I will leave it to Joe.

Thank you for the kind words gentlemen and for your personal efforts pushing against the flood of fakes. I know that taking a stand is not without risk. I take a threat against the Buck family as one against this country.. They gotta come thru me kind of thing.

I contact American sellers of fakes with this question: Are you aware that your item is fake? Then I tell them that fakes and their American sellers can be viewed by googling: Fake Buck knives and the Americans who sell them. (This takes them to a sticky over in good bad & ugly with pics).

I have had about a 50% success rate using this technique (listings removed). And, EBay hasn't cancelled my acct. as was threatened early on when my approach was less professional.

After looking at the newsletter I went online also to look around on sle-bay. It is AMAZING!!!!!!! All that crap that people were pushing is gone now. However, need to stay vigilant since I'm sure whoever is now sitting on 1000's of POS fakes will be looking for a way to move them.

A great battle has been won but have to keep an eye out, I think they will be back.
