300 layers damacus blade of 12 inches length, 50mm width, 9mm thickness...
Lots of "meat" in this knife!!

(Don't know what I should use it for... :))

Wow, that's nice. I normally don't like tantos but that one appeals to my tastes. Who's the maker? Where'd you get it? Give us a story.

Hello Grapevine,

Sorry for the late reply... life gets a bit busy recently...

About this "Big Mac" version of a tanto (is it really a "tanto"?) it is a production from a "granny" shop in Japan. The reason why I call it "granny" because the shop is currently owned by a 94 years old black smith (!). They produce mainly tranditional japanese knives and tools. They also make quite a few "japanese-ised" bowies and hunting knives too (these are really popular in Japan... in fact, so many Japanese blacksmiths are producing "japanese-ised" bowies these days).

This is the link to their homepage:

The knife I showed appears in this particular page:

(One bad news: their site is in Japanese only... )
