as some of you may know, im being forced to move my shop due to zoning issues in my city. well this weekend i spent at the tree farm which will be known as Area 51 a highly secure undisclosed location in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains.

i have the estimation for getting power back to the new shop site from A.E.P 477 feet of wire 3 poles and and a transformer they need a 20 foot right of way also a book worth of legal documents for the neighbor and myself to sign. i spent the weekend running the brush hog and i started on the right of way

all is going well already have a nice pile of wood

Lon,

I've been following your predicament for the past several months on FB and I wish you the best of luck with your new shop endeavor. Hopefully you'll be able to look back on this experience and be proud of your efforts...I will be eager to see the new shop progress...

Best of Luck,

Bobby

thanks Bobby yesterday when i had it all leveled off i looked around and thought im finally building out here. Dad bought the property in 1990 he and i always talked of building out there but mom just refused to move "out there" i dumped a bottle of beer on the ground for dad and left another on a rock in case it wasn't enough

Sorry to hear you have to move the shop. Looks much more scenic then the city though. Keep us updated on the progress. -Burton

Have you considered buying a generator? I'm not sure how much power you draw, but that may be something to consider. Please let me know if you want help figuring out what you would need. I do this kinda thing for a living.

Wow, not only can you make a knife, but you can make the space to make the shop... I bet you're gonna build the building yourself too...
Humbling. Build! More pix!

-Daizee

i could build it but i really dont have the time to do it myself im going to farm it out. i can do the prep work on the weekends and do knives during the week to pay for the building ill keep adding pics to the thread as things progress.

LOL yeah i suppose it is a WIP i just had 32 ton of #9 gravel delivered today now who wants to help me make a nice 4 inch base for the concrete pad this weekend?

Looks like you found a little piece of paradise for your new shop Lon.
Cant wait to see the bruts de forge that come out of it.
