So, i have a CRKT m16 and i clip it in my front right pocket as far back towards my rear pocket as i can. The thing is, sometimes it catches on stuff and i think i lost the thing and later on see its clipped to something else! like the bag i moved the other day. So my question is, how else do you guys carry your knives with clips?

I rarely have my clip snag on things so it maybe the way that clip is designed. Have a picture of it? :)

that is THE ONLY knife that has ever done that to me. and it happened daily. when i carry it i tuck it into my waistband to the right of my buckle or behind my hip at like 4 o clock (where i've been carrying most clipped knives these days)

I have the CRKT M-16 and have not had a problem with mine at all. I have hung a pocket clip up on sumptin' but that is really really rare thing for me. Maybe the clip tip is bent outward too much??
WOOK

I carry all my pocket clip knives clipped to the inside of my rear pants pocket. I've not had problems.

I've had the same thing happen with other knives in the past , I've even torn pants pockets when clips have gotten snagged.
I learned the reason was because the little lip at the end sticks out too far , so now I 'customize' all mine by re-working the clip to my satisfaction.
:D

You must be tucking you shirt into your pants leaving your clip exposed. I have this problem on occasion when I'm wearing dress pants.

Other than that my shirt/sweater/jacket is usually covering most of the clip so it stays put.

I recently bought an expensive knife to use. The clip bangs aroung on metal carts all day at work, scrapes the bedroom furniture, and chips corners on the sheetrock walls.

Some clips do this more than others, but I don't blame the clip, I'm old and too tired to walk around the obstacles.

So I try to be more careful. :D

I have a similar problem , I work on cars as a hobby and I'm always afraid I'll scratch the paint so use a heavy felt pocket holster that I made myself. Or I just dump the folder in my pocket or use a belt sheath.....

Learned to work and live around it basically on all my folders to some degree. Have the occasional mishap...like once forgot to remove it getting an adjustment from a chiropractor....that cqc-7 clip dug right into the leather and tore it :(

Was working around my motorcycle today and luckily i had to get it out before i leaned in on the gas tank, that would have sucked. I guess i just have to tuck it in when im going to be working around things it can get caught on.

if you carry RFP, DON'T put it as 'high' as possible. put it near the middle, and see how it behaves when you sit down or bend your hip

might as well put it in your RBP.....that's how i always pack, works fine, except for sitting down on hard chairs...:)

"Is that a knife in your pocket or are you just happy to see her?" :D

Sorry, I just had to.
