I have two new knives :)

that myrtle 57 turned out really sweet. loved working on the wood for that one.

The ash necker was sooooo close to going to the challenge. I think in traditional terms, it was probably best. But i had to put something completely different into the challenge.

I REALLY need to get pics up...
recently:
Ash Necker
Model 57 Mrytle- echo7

Thinking a mini Bolo might combine the barong and LBK and I could skate on two...
The Ash Necker is my new EDC, I just need to send it for a nice Sierra belt sheath :)

a mini bolo..... I'll have to hunt around for more ash. But yeah, in the 7-8 inch range it would work out really well. at 8 inches I can still use one for the kitchen and wood messing without any issues.

:D:thumbup: I love it! 8" gives me plenty of room to baton up to a 4" wide piece of wood for splitting- somewhere to hit besides the very tip. Plenty of room for hand placement for draw or pushknife and lots of slicing room for meat without sawing. Combined with a good folding saw and the necker- there is little to want. I keep a narrow bladed SAK with small reamer/auger for drilling small holes in each pack. Tips on the necker and mini Bolo are fine enough for a hearth board and block for bowdrilling.

That thin Trail knife is awesome. I love wearing that one around set to dangle, just rolls out of the way when I get in the car, nothing poking me in the kidney. Nice and light, comfortable grip....

Not feeling the EDC or GBB?

How are you liking the LBK? I was staring down my mailman today! ;) :) Didn't help! Maybe Monday!

Don't get me wrong, I love them all but I realistically should have been selling instead of trading and I cannot afford to keep all of them. Plus there is too much overlap in use- I prefer to have fewer knives so they get real use instead of deciding which knife to use when 3 or 4 of them are appropriate for what I am doing. I am VERY happy that I had the chance to have such a variety on hand to compare and choose from. Any of them would be excellent keepers, I just look at how I use a knife and how they fit my hand.
Here is the Ash Necker earning his keep:

This knife suits me VERY well. Large necker/small belt knife.

I forgot- I love the LBK, For how I use a field/woods knife, it suits me well. I would like a little more blade length and am looking forward to seeing a Mini Bolo come out soon ;)
