I just mailed a 110LT to my brother as a late birthday gift, and I hope he uses it.
He's always bought junker knives because he doesn't want to mess up a good knife, but there are no screws to fall out of this one.
I made sure to write on the knife's packaging " it's just a knife, use it "
" It's not too good to use ", so I hope he listens.

He's not expecting anything and will definitely be surprised, and the funny thing is that he actually lives in Surprise Arizona :D

Your brother sounds like a friend of mine. He has a good folding hunting knife that he received as a company award. It’s another name brand I won’t mention here on the Buck forum but it has all the blades to change out in a sheath setup. He does take it out hunting but doesn’t use it because he’s afraid of messing it up or losing it.o_O So he borrows my Buck 110 cause it’s Tough n rugged. :D:D.

I hope your brother uses it and finds out how tough n rugged Buck 110s are.

After trying one, im probably going to start buying some of these to hand out as gifts. Cheap and very tough.

On a side note , I noticed it was different than my 110Lt that I bought last month.
Mine just has a small Buck logo n the handle, while the one i sent him had the logo inside a large " ribbon "? Shaped area ( the shape you'd find for the checkering on the forearm of a fine hunting rifle )
I didn't know there was any kind of change.

Walmart has a special run with a different logo on handle setup.....

nice gift.

I was in a big box sporting goods store last week - they had the black handled Buck 110LT on sale for $19.95 - what a deal on a great knife. I've got several Smoke Jumpers so I left it there. OH

That was on sale ?
At Wally world that's what they always cost.

Still they're an excellent value for the money.
I love the blade finish, and honestly wouldn't mind seeing a classic 110 with this blade finish.

I've been guilty of this "too nice to use" mindset myself.

He's payed $25 at the mall for a knife worth $10 but he'd not buy a $20 Buck knife like say the bantam I've recommended to him because I guess if it's of any quality at all he'd not want to mess it up.
Hopefully this knife will change that for him.

I think everyone has a line they draw. Too nice to use? For most people the line is far north of a $20 Buck knife.

For me too nice to use is if it is embellished somehow making it art. Especially if the embellishment is fragile or delicate.

Most knives are meant to be used. Far too many really nice users sit in a dark safe. I use all of mine except for one. It’s a LNIB Buck 111. It’s also in the only knife box I’ve saved. I also have an identical one to use to keep temptation away.

He got the knife today and loves it.
I wrote on the package " it's just a knife, use it "
And " it's not too good to use ", he said he liked what I wrote on it that it's exactly what he'll do.

He's happy to have his first Buck knife, and I'm happy to have been the one to gift it to him.

I would be curious to hear about people's experiences with lock up and wobble on these knives.

I would love to a plastic Buck I could reliably gift.
