well i joined the strider club today, or ar least the buck/strider club - ordered a 880 this morning, $119, and also some X-Mas gifts for family/friends (ie spydie meercats,CS spikes, etc) but that 880 is mine - looked at a spear point model recently, and got the bug - had to have a tanto though - one big, thick well made knife imho - i was so juiced i 2 dayed it via UPS, so should be here by thu anyway - my plan is to use it for a while, and eventually get a genuine strider folder, and also have been checking out fixed blades too - but one helluva knife, i did some research on BF, and on one of the threads people were saying it wouldnt sell at the retail price, should retail for $99 or so - well they were certainly wrong lol

PS - as far as quality, etc how do ya guys think the buck stacks up agianst the genuine article? of course i know that ya get what ya pay for, but i have heard that the buck stacks up fairly well w/the strider, cost considered of course........so what do ya guys think? and should i post here or at buck??
 
Congrats, kiss that wallet goodbye, its too late.

The Buck Strider is a good quality production knife. I like it because its profile is smaller than the AR or GB. As to workmanship, Buck has been doing the knife thing for a long time, so its good quality.

Might want to look into a MFS or WP2 as your first production Strider.

I'd be interested in what people think about the Buck/Strider vs. the real thing.

I just got a chance to play with a Buck/Strider for the first time and my initial impression was "Wow!" I could see that it is really beefy, really overbuilt. And when you snapped it open with authority it locked up so tight too.

I'm convinced that I'll be getting one or the other in the very near future.
 
Strider Knives cuts no corners when making a folder the AR and the GB are the top of the food chain in folders, Buck (of which I have both the 880 SB 1 Tanto and the 880 SP Spear Point model are very high in quality and production.
