I just bought a Kershaw Boa today, and I think we are going to get along very well. The knife feels good in my hand...very comfortable. The recurved blade shape just begs to cut into something, and the speed safe opening system is really a neat touch. I have never tried to sharpen a recurve before, but I plan on getting a Spyderco Sharpmaker for that. I've never tried CPM 440V either, so I have some new experiences coming. Does anyone else out there carry one of these? And if so, how do you like them?

Great EDC knife and especially SpeedSafe opening device - it's soooo cool. But after 6 months of daily use I've broken a spring in my Avalanche (the same opening system)! Anyone has ever had such an experience with Ken Onion knife?

Piter M-

Mine broke. I emailed Kershaw service
( mailto:warranty@kershawknives.com )
and they sent me a new spring. Before
it arrived, I took the broken one out
and used it as a pattern to make a new
one. Used a spring from a engine
carburetor.(*.sp)

I love my Boa! I bought it when they first came out and have been carrying it regularly ever since. Despite constant use, and a certain amount of abuse, my continues to work perfectly.

I've had mine for about a month now and I love it. The blade sharpens up fine on the Sharpmaker.

I've just send an email to Kershaw and asked for a new spring. I'll see...
