... and was pleasantly surprised these blades are significantly thicker than my other Green River knives which are Dadleys, Butchers, and a Hunter pattern.

Does anyone know if this is something specific to the skinners or is Russell making the Green River line with thicker blades these days?

I felt the need to ask because I'd love owning a more robust Dadley. :D

If they are making them thicker It's the 1st I've heard of it.
Post us pic's of the 3 different styles you have Wolf.

I was doing a search for John Russel Green River knives in the hopes of finding out more about them, and this was the only thread here I could find?
Next search for them will be on google. ;)

Hi Wolf
The new Green River Dadleys are actually thinner than the original Dadley. The profile is the same as the old with a centered tip. The big difference is the old Dadley had an extreme tapered tang and the new one has no taper.
You can buy the blades or a finished knife at a couple of easy sources. If you can't find them write me a message or send me an Email at songofthewoods@hotmail.com.

Robin

Nuthin' new going on.....the buffalo and sheep skinners have had thicker blades (~1/8" vs 3/32") than the other patterns for as long as I've used them ;~)
