I just bought some CPM 154

I'm sure you'll do well with it. I'm tempering the blade and spring for slip joint #1 right now, for the second time following my second attempt at heat treating. First round didn't harden enough.

If you haven't seen it, Crucible's heat treat information can be found here, though it looks like most don't heat as long as they recommend.

My second attempt looks to be going okay so far. Blade and spring at 61.x Rc following heat treat vs. 58-60 Rc the first time around. We'll see this afternoon I guess.

Good stuff, can't wait to see what you do with it.
Can you get the spalted finish on stainless?
Cool if you can.

I doubt it. We had trouble doing the spalting on A2, much less Stainless.

More than likely just going to make a couple of bushfingers so I can try it out.

G'day Andy

Thanks for the response.

Making Bushfingers out of it should give you the opportunity to see if this Stainless steel is prone to chipping when used in a Bushcraft knife

Kind regards
Mick

I could. But I don't think thats the direction I'm headed in. More than likely two Bushfingers, or a Bushfinger and a Hikingbuddy.
