I just broked the torsion bar on my S30V Blur

which sort of surprised me. It just kinda cracked and let go. So I took it out, cleaned everything up, oiled the pivot... and now I'm wondering why I ever got all the other knives in my collection. I mean this guy pretty much does it. I might order a new torsion bar from Kershaw just to have it, but for now I can't put this thing down.

("Broked?" Heh.)

With the exception of my glassbreaker blur, I removed the torsion bars from my blurs as soon as they come in. They deploy so smoothly it's almost magical.

Just go onto the Kershaw site and put in a request for parts and they'll send you whatever you need for free (well from their list anyway) and you can have extra hardware if the need ever arises.

Where is the request for parts page. The only warranty information I can find is about sending the knife in.

Both my S30V and CF154 Blurs are de-assisted. My WalMart Blur hasn't been yet only because I haven't carried it yet...

I haven't de-assisted mine yet, but I get where you're coming from.
To share your feeling 100%, for me, I might have to grind out the recurve...
Enjoy it.

Sorry, I wasn't specific. I clicked on the "send email" and it looks like they're all set up with an eform to send parts. Wasn't obvious from their warranty information page.

I called them and got some pocket clips, stickers and a catalog. Quick, easy and free!

I deassisted my s30v blur soon after I bought it and I prefer it much better without the torsion bar! Super smooth.

Ive contacted customer service and requested parts via a couple different areas on the customer service page, just use the freeform area to place your request. Right one, wrong one, it doesnt matter. Hell, their customer service is so good I dont think you even have to hit the send/enter button

I stay away from a lot of the newer Kershaws because of their speed-safe. I always get excited when I see the knife but then I read speed-safe and im instantly turned away. To be honest its just another thing to break (I've had the Cryo & Blurs torsion bars break on me) .... I can't help but wonder what Kershaw gets out of it... it seems like it would just be more of a hassle having to lose money on warranty claims.

The Blur has a pretty weak detente because of the liner lock, so I guess it's a matter of whether you're comfortable carrying it that way. Opening sure isn't a problem. Staying closed is, a little. I've ordered the 566 and hope that it has a stronger detente. Drilling a detente hole isn't much of a problem for me either I may try to de-assist the Cryo when I get around to it. I'll probably wreck it, but it's not a terribly expensive knife.

I carried a Leek from 2004-2010. The torsion bar never broke, but it did get weaker over time. Plus there was grit in the pivot.
