These people who knock off other maker's designs at the drop of a hat are whining about their "Trademark Rights" in the Feb 2005 issue of Blade magazine. Bottom of page 36 they write:

WARNING: Joy Enterprises Takes its Trademark Rights Seriously

Then they show a picture of one of their Fury line boxes on top of another knock-off company's box which has the name Fory. :D  :barf:

I'm finding this to be very amusing. :D :D Talk about poetic justice.

I don't know which amazes me more. The fact that JE is actually miffed about getting knocked off itself or that another of their own kind would actually knock-off JE's crap.

The boxes don't even look the same. The knives depicted are different designs(probably someone else's designs to boot). The logos have no readily discernable similarity, at least to me.

Oh, and BTW, they're complaining about their switchblades being knocked-off(calling the other brand "a cheap imitation"...gee imagine that) and the picture they use as an example of their own wares is a folder with a thumbstud.

Good grief, give me a break....

Moderators: If this is in need of re-direction or editing please do so. I don't want to get anyone here in trouble.

That cracks me up! :D

You don't see it as much these days, but it used to be very common for imitators to advertise "BEWARE OF IMITATIONS! THIS IS THE ONLY GENUINE" etc.

I can't believe anyone would deliberately want their knives confused with the "Fury" name... crazy world.

These companies are seriously screwing up public opinion about knives... calling them switchblades, producing such crap. :barf:
Makes me angry. :grumpy:

Mr. Kettle please stop calling the pot black! Thats too funny! Glad you pointed that out, thats the funniest $hit I have seen in a long time.. :barf:

what got Joy Enterprise's panties in a wad.

If you turn the magazine upside down and read the small print on the example boxes(I needed a magnifying glass as these middle age eyes don't see tiny letters that clearly these days) you can see where the "knock-off" is claiming to be Joy Enterprises too. :footinmou

If anything, this increases both the irony and the humorous aspect of their situation. Unforunately for FORY this puts them in big, deep doodee. oh well...I'm with Keith, Here's hoping they litigate each other right outta business! :barf:

It sure would be nice if they woulda blown that up a bit for those of us that can't see stuff that small anymore.

Joy Enterprises is one of the knockoff kings along with Frost Cutlery and Master Cutlery. They make me want to puke everytime I see them. :barf:

I had to read that two times just to make sure I was seeing it right. That is an ABSOLUTE hoot!

Lock 'em ALL in a big room w/ their favorite products. Let them 'settle their differences'. When most of the screaming stops, burn the building down. Anyone trying to escape will be shot. Repeat as necessary. (Linton, et al)
